So, i'm making my christmas list. I know it's childish, but yes, i am still in highschool and my parents do still ask me what i want for christmas. and i've had this beat up piect of shit dell laptop forever. it has tons of problems, dell's waranty doesn't cover anything, and i really am sick of it. i think my dad is too, and that's why i've decided to ask for a mac for christmas.

however, i have never had one. i know i'll be doing alot of graphic design for school and know i want a pro-that's been decided. but i'm not sure what size...

what is the best size macbook pro? is there a difference? and i really don't want a 17 inch. so just between 13 and 15 inch...what's the major difference?

Well the major difference is 2 inches and a few hundred pixels of resolution. Possible internal differences but not much.

I have a 15" MBP, and I love it. It is the perfect mix of screen size and portability. Still enough screen to do what I need to do, but it isnt nearly as huge as the 17". If I need a bigger screen I will just hook up to an external monitor. There is some internal differences between the 13 and 15 inch models. After you upgrade the 13" to the same specs as the 15" comes with stock, you are only about $50 away from the same price as the 15" model.

if you do a lot of graphic design, dont need it on the move and have a lot of money to blow, a baller ass desktop is probably the best way to go.

but that can get really expensive and sucks unless you are always working in one place

i do a lot of work with video and had the 15 inch for 3 years until it just died, and i fucking loved it. 17 can get big, and 13 small. 15s perfect

I have a 13in. MacBook and I love the size. I got a laptop because of the portability and I think 15 is just a little to big. Not to mention MacBook screens are garbage buy the 13 and use the money you save on an external monitor for design work

there are a few differences internally, the bigger screens come with faster processors, usually a little more ram and maybe bigger hard drive, but you can just get say a thirteen and upgrade these things for not too much more money. i would say get the smallest one and with the cost difference from the bigger ones get some upgrades, or a program or something...

i recommend not getting a macbook pro, anyone who actually would need a pro would have the foresight to actually go the apple web page and find the differences that are clearly listed there, such as the 13 inch having a worse graphics card than the 15 and 17 inch, a slower processor and few other things.

15 is a happy medium. its not too small as to not see shit, and not too big as to not fit in your bag. otherwise. if your parents buy you a 3000$ laptop for xmas, i would like to offer myself as a loving daughter for up for adoption for christmas. tell your mom. thanks!

get the 13, then buy a 25 inch monitor.

Run that bad boy in clamshell mode.

Basically like having a laptop and an imac.

Plus the monitor is 1080p so you know i got the PS3 plugged in.
