I've surfed a few times in new jersey, but only on longboards. Its so fun and i really want to start to surf a shortboard. me and my friends rented boards and got the hang of it, and its deffinily something i will continue. i just wanna buy the cheapest board i can find. I am 5'11'', 145lbs. and surf the coast of nh. i was thinking 6'5'' or 6'4''. thoughts? opinions? used boards?

a 6'2 rocket fish would be a good transition from a LB to a SB. i've seen too many people (especially in shitty NE) have such a problem going from a 9' boat to a 5'10 potato chip.

if you surf in nh, go to cinnamon rainbows, and check out their used boards, they usually will have some sort of short board in solid condition for like 150-200 bucks

i surf southern maine and i have a 6'6'' shortboard. im 5'10, 130 lbs. its perfect becuse its fast and i can still catch waves on smaller days. i wouldnt go much shorter in new england, unless you plan on surfing in the winter when the waves are always big.

yeah im still lookin for a board but i know what i want now, thanks. ive been checkin out cinnamon rainbows and summer sessions for used boards. if anyone surfs the wall or the rocks ill cya around this summer.

im usually up there, mostly i surf at straws, which is like right past jennis. i have a purple 5star, soon to be a PEACEcoast! board. say hi if you ever see me. my board has a peace sign on it nnn stuffffff

yeah its better to go a little bigger now and get a smaller board down the line. 6'5+ should be good. any smaller is only making it harder.
