So I have a friend who does Graffiti and such, and he got caught the other night. He told the cops he wrote under a name that he no longer actually uses. The cops arrested him etc. But they took his sketchbook that has his new name that he writes with in it. The cops said that if they match anything in the sketchbook with anything around town, he could face jail time. Right now he's out of state, and wants me to go and cover his shit up. I'm not sure if I should, because I could probably get into deep shit doing that. But I don't want to be a bitch and not try and help him out.

If it helps any, he's 18, I'm 17.

if your covering up his graffiti and a cop catches you cant you just say your covering it up because your trying to clean up your town of all the graffiti? wouldnt they like that your helping??
 
if he's a big writer.
and i suggest cleaning it in the middle of the day. no way you'll get in trouble for that.
 
well, I know im going to get flamed for this, but its kinda his fault.

thats like a friend asking you to cover up a dead body of his for him, or hiding his weed, or whatever. You could get in deep shit

just go cover it up in the middle of the day. people will think you're just out to do a good deed.

did he bomb your whole town? they are probably trying to scare him. its hard to prove that he wrote everything in the book. im sure they just want as many names as possible. use your own discretion....of course look out for you friend and fellow writers but he should man up and deal. I did.
 
im pretty sure they cant charge him with anything he wasnt actually caught doing. the only time this happens is someone seriously prolific. when Ket in NYC got pinched, they had a big ass folder on him and threw the book at him. but for some small time kid, for all they know he went around and sketched shit he saw already up.

i used to write a little and with things like this, you really gotta flex the law. if its serious charges, get a public defender defender to advise him. i remember a really good thread on bombing science, or 12ozprophet with a shit load of tips and legal advise. arrest is only step one yo.
 
I feel like they're just trying to scare him as well. They actually thought he was someone else who bombs Madison (Wisconsin). They didn't have a clue who he was, etc.

I don't know how plausible this would be, but maybe just call the police department and say "for some community service I'd like to attempt at cleaning the graffiti throughout the town". I don't know.

I got a fat cap and some Montana Gold, I think I might just spray over what's up and easily visible. Each piece would take 30 seconds top to cover, and I'd definitely do it around like 10am or so. I think I'll just do my best and clean it up.
