What should i do?

I broke my thumb at hood this weekend. Thought it was no big deal, (i have skied with a cast on before) but then the doctor said that i needed surgury because it was displaced. I had the surgury yesterday and they put me in a cast. At this point I was stoked because I thought id be able to go back and ski in a couple weeks (im from seattle). But when i suggested the idea out loud my mom flipped shit and was all like 'you cant do anything for 2 months!' So, moral of the story is, how do i convince my mom to let me go down again.

My friend broke his thumb this year and was highly advised against skiing by his doctor but they said he can still ski if he wants he just has to be careful. so he skied with a cast and was throwing cork 7's again in no time haha. but ya go ahead and ski if you want just watch yourself

Go to the doctor and if he tells you that you could ski but its not recumended then tell your mom that you wont do anything at all and that you are just going down to film your buddy.

I have had this problem more than once If your persistant they will give up but if you get hurt again your fucked

yea. the tell your mom your filming for a friend idea is good.

or... lie to her and tell your going to take it easy, but still ski a bit?

can you drive yourself... or is she driving you?

i was in a cast for a few weeks this season, at first my parents said no skiing, but the doctor i got was a skiier whose kids had skiied in casts, so i was ok. i told my parents i was going to be careful, and i did a fair bit of filming instead of really hitting stuff. tell this to the doctor first, getting them on your side will go a long way with your parents, and nomensteven was right, most will be up front with you about it not being a big deal. give it a week and act like the cast isnt holding you back at all, then ask again.

good luck and try not to get snow in the cast, that sucked.
