I am considering buying a shotgun mic to enhance my audio in my future edits.

My question is: which is best

Cost: 0 - 150 € (sorry european)

Type: Shotgun

Camera: DSLR

Should be relatively easy to use ( im not a sound/music pro, but im not dump either)

I dont care if its stereo or mono if it is recording good sound

For a dslr definitely get the Rode Video Mic Pro

This. Make sure you get the right one, you need to get the Pro version. Everything below it kinda sucks. Watch videos on how to get the best sound out of it. You're also gunna want a deadbeat cover, skiing is fast=wind noise

the VMP is amazing, but i'm not sure it fits his budget. 150 eur is $215 canadian, and at my local camera shop the VMP is 300. 150 eur is 170 usd, and on B&H the VMP is 200 usd.

So, i'm going to suggest you look at the rode videomic, videomic GO, and videomic Pro. and see which one fits your budget the best. i THINK that the GO performs better than the regular, and know for sure that the Pro is the best out of those three. the GO is very cheap, but i believe it only has one setting.

I have the Go and can say that for the money, it performs very well. I'd definitely suggest it if you're on a budget.

Save some money and get a takstar shc if I remember the name correct, I have compared the quality next to my friends rode and the rode has a heartier sound but the takstar picked up just as much clean sound no hiss, has decibel gain and all that. I am able to pick up clean audio from 3ft away to 300ft across a canyon can hear rider say oh shit going up an in run of a booter MIC is 30 bucks and have a newer lavalier model. Also do not spend money on the rode deadcat micover makes one that is literally 85% as good at blocking wind on jump lines etc. Just my input

get the takstar SGC-598, extremely comparable audio to the rode video mic pro for 1/4th the cost. i found this video very useful in comparing them

I dont have the pro. Just the rode videomic. It does just fine with a wind shield along with editing the audio a little in premier
