What sets off your gaper alarm?

Ahhhhh yes, another butt hurt gaper. No need to call out park skiers because you're terrible at it. I'd be willing to bet most "park skiers" could light you up around the mountain before you could even touch the features they hit.

Tanner Hall is an acrobat, not a skier. Narrow skis are good for skiing in bad snow conditions, so yes, there is an exception, but having a narrow ski as a daily driver (unless you're someplace like the midwest) screams gaper. If you never ski switch you're a gaper. Scott makes the worst quality poles and goggles of anyone, not sure about their skis as I haven't skied them. Snowboarding is for fags.

I don't ski park and I have no problem admitting most people here would probably own me at park. Doesn't change the fact that I'm better at big mountain than most people here (notice that I said most, not all) and I ski lines that most people here wouldn't even consider attempting.

Not sure if srs bout Tanner... not everyone lives in the fucking west... i'm sure Bode Miller is a huge gaper, he doesn't even do the switch. Poles are poles and the scott jib tw got a top 10 in freeskiers top 10 park skis. Your arguments are invalid...

So no need to call them gapers then is there when the real gaper is you. And really who brags about being one the best big mountain skiers without any proof anyways?

Nope, just no need to call out park skiers for skiing park. It's absolutely fine to ski anywhere but the park and not be a gaper. Bragging about how park skiers are pussy's and how great one is at big mountain pushes the gaper button though. Also saying one is greater than the other.

One time I saw this group of 6th graders who thought that gaper meant a gay snowboarder, and a gay skier was a gayser..... so they literally just went around calling everyone gapers and gaysers.

People who claim hard and need to tell other people that they are better than them. That sets off the gaper alarm.

the post I was referencing: "How wide your ski doesn't determine shit, what's the point of having a mid fat ski if you're skiing in the east or Australia or any sub par conditions. You only need twins if you're sking switch or landing switch."

You really don't think more members of epicski would think that ski width doesn't determine much about a skiier, or that skinnier skis are sometimes more appropriate than fat skis, or that twin tips are only useful if you actually ski switch, than ns members?

Ahaha you're so dumb... so Tom Wallisch is a gaper? I knew it all along.

So my Atomic Punx are shitty skis because they're less than 98mm underfoot and they're traditional camber? Great. Good to know Gus Kenworthy, Jossi Wells, Andreas Håtveit, etc. are also gapers.

Shut up man, you're just being completely ignorant.

Shut the fuck up. You ski big mountain, cool, whatever, that's yo thing. I'm not much of a park guy myself, I prefer skiing lines, but do I say I'm the best skier on the mountain? no. Do I say I'm one of the most hardcore skiers on NS? no.

We all know what gapers are, they're usually the guys who are wearing jeans/rental outerwear, rockin' the gaper gap, and generally just acting like a fuckin' peanut.

Park Guys, not gapers. People who ski narrower, 100% camber skis, not gapers.

You're a fuckin' peanut though, so according to my criteria, you're a gaper. And a terrible person, but y'know you'll probably try and be all "extreme" and release a slab, so I reckon nature will take care of you.

What kind of gear are you using to access your terrain you extreme son of gun? Touring setup? Sled/snow cat? Or a heli?

Heli. I ski with Teton Gravity Research and I ski on custom skis that are 152mm underfoot so they can pretty much float on top of avalanches, but I usually don't do that, I prefer to break the slab then outski it. It's like racing. TGR is even doing a movie that focuses on me and has lots of footage of me outskiing avalanches and skiing on/in avalanches, it'll be out next year sometime.

Jeans, jeans tucked into boots, coon hat, rentals, pizza with arms out, yard sales for days, no hat in cold weather, bomber hat, and finally when they ride over the lips of rails. Then you can be sure they're a gaper.

this is great.^

"Im a really good skier"

fat dudes in size small and medium ski gear

skittle boots

skittle clothes

super dry bases

any type of ski carrying straps/handles

Anyone who says the word gaper falls directly into said category of skier. Living in a ski town all I hear at restaurants and bars is douchie mid 20/early 30 year old fuckers talk trash about "gapers" they saw that day. But fact of the matter is that those same people talkin shit can't ski for shit either

yeah fuck you.

There are l large amount of big mountain skiers on here and a lot of skiers that do both. I'm sure not the best

gabe...lost it...way to many gabers. btw wtf is gaper alarm? is it a loud obnoxious sound ringing in our ears from too much wutang played at high volume? or is it just the sound of your own skis stomping shitty 10 foot drops? this is very important to me
