What powder ski should I buy?

What up everyone. I am living in Park City for the winter and I am working at a ski shop which i get hella deals at so I am thinking about picking up some powder boards. I consider myself an expert skier, I am about 5'11 and weight about 200 lbs. I want something light and fun that i can attack the pow in but still make it back to the lifts. As of right now i am thinking about getting either Armada ARG's or the JJ's. Rossignol S7 are on the list too..(i skied them once last year at Alta and liked them alot) I currently own a pair of old Line Motherships and K2 Public Enemies, which i love both pairs.

Let me know what you guys think about this issue.

thanks alot and shred hard!

JJ's are probally going to be ur best bet all around for a light stick that can more or less do it all.
ARG would be a good choice as well but i THINK its marginally heavier than the JJ?? (somone confirm??)
and are u doing any switch riding/jibbing? or mainly straight hucking and point/shoot?

sorry for the post whoring...
when i said jeronimo, what i ment to say was the wrenegade (if you can handle em, lol) or the greatscott(from the description it sounds closer to the JJ)
also if u wanted a more playfull ski for the trees and playing in the pow the caylors would be money.

If you want JJ's you better hope your shop already has em. I'm pretty sure armada is sold out now.

Get in touch with Iggyskier on here though and get yourself on a pair of handmade ON3P skis. They are designed to be ridin in the conditions you want and they are a bunch of fellow NS'er who are busting there ass to build dope skis for people like you. Their prices are more then big company proform prices but you'll be riding something very few other people at your shop will have :P

S7's are definitely more directional than the JJ's so if you are planning on doing much switch then the JJ's would be the better of the two.

hey thanks for your opinions guys, I think i am leaning towards the JJ's if they are still around. i am ordering skis tomorrow

get ARG's, they are the best pow ski bar none. They will open up a whole new world for you in powder. this will be your 3rd pair of skis which is what ARGs are made for. JJ's and the others are more like the 2nd pair. Seriously look at some reviews on here about ARG's and you will know whats up. They are light, stiff, float, nimble, poppy, jibbable, chargable, basically everything you could ever want in a pow ski.

Personally i think they are fun on the way back to the lift on the groomers. if the snow is soft, then you can rail groomers, but if the snow is harder, then you just have fun sliding your turns, and messing around.

Armada IS sold out of JJ's already. I'm about the same size as u and thought the S7's were way too soft when I skied them (195). If u can ski motherships, u can pretty much ski anything. If ur looking to be able to ride switch in pow well i'd go JJ or Bentchetler. If switch is not something ur worried about I'd go atomic atlas or Salomon Rocker for big open bowl skiing. If ur looking for something u can ski on everyday the JJ is the best ski out there tho, and if u can get it I'd buy it. I picked some up this year.

Donner Party's are like the ARG, I bought them over the ARG though. Only go DP or ARG if you are only skiing pow with it, it's extremely limited on hardpack.

ON3P Caylors are pretty sick from what I've seen

S7's seem like a great ski

i agree with this^. the jj is better all around but if you are getting purely a fresh pow ski get the arg's. good 3rd pair to have around for the snow days we all dream about. they are awesome! coolest experience in deep snow i've ever had was skiing the arg's!

Just throwing an idea out there... Salomon Czars, very versatile well rounded ski. The waist is in the same range your looking but with the slightly rockered tips and more traditional sidecut your getting a ski that has a wider carving platform for the cat tracks back to the lift and a ski that skis great in powder. Plus i work at a shop as well and if you contact your salomon rep they have really great deals on the czars right now. I would look quick though theyre going fast and i believe the 190s are sold out already.

EP Pro, funnest ski out there, you won't regret these at all

everybody at my hill w/ hellbents/JJs/bacons ALWAYS say they want mah EPs...can't blame them :D

since you have the PE's for all mountain use go with something more powder specific like the arg or donner party and then your quiver will be set up for anything

I Purchased A Pair of JJs This Year But a Ski I Also Reccomend Is The Faction Royale its Fantastic In The Powder Because its Wide in The Waist (122) and It has Rocker But You Can Use it on the steep stuff too because its not ridiculously soft and actually has camber underfoot

You weigh 200lbs and want a super light ski? Get some beef under your feet, you should be able to handle it.

I recommend Wrenegades by the way.
