I've always had equipment way above the level I ski on. I do it because of progression, some people do it because they can. Can't people just buy whatever skis they want to ride and not get shit for it? I mean yes at a certain point people can get annoying having really nice shit and not even trying, but as long as you do it and make some effort there isn't anything wrong with it.
