What phone to get?

Hey ns,

I have an upgrade for a new phone available and i'm stuck between two phones. The Droid Razr and the HTC rezound. What do you guys think?

If any of you have one of those two phones would you care to share some things you like or dislike?

I have a Razr and love it purely for the fact that it does everything - and its damn near indestructible. The gorilla glass on the front has taken so many car keys to it, and not a single scratch.

get the razr, htc sense sucks, so unless you plan on rooting it dont get it.

Razrs battery life is fucking awesome. All around a good phone.

Galaxy nexus rocks too, just not the best battery life. i have 2 spares though so i dont really care
 
No. jailbreaking only allows you to get 3rd party apps.

Android market allows 3rd party aps from the beginning.

When you root it you take off the OS and put a new one on.

So on an htc phone, youre taking off htc sense and puting on a new OS like ICS 4 for example. Its still android, just not the same OS.

no, just back it up properly, take your time and follow instructions. Guides everywhere. and most companies and phone stores dont give a shit if you root your phone in the event of something breaking.
 
if you wanted to could root a phone and put ios 5 on it? (just out of curiosity i'm not an apple fanboy and theres really no point to it...)

It's not a smartphone but it has htc sense. If i wanted to, could i put an android OS on it?
 
depends on the phone.

i.e

older more popular phones: hundreds with a larger amount of very stable roms since they have been around longer

Newer phones: Not very many, unless theyre supper popular. Also arnet the most stable usually
 
I have AT&T and really like the Razr, if I buy an unlocked one on ebay, can I use it with AT&T, or does it not work like that?
 
Get a Galaxy Nexus and root that shit. I have the new Android 4.1 already running on my phone. Shit is insanely smooth and the voice commands are amazing.
 
How do you update the rom without loosing all your apps and contacts and stuff? When I went from froyo to ics, I lost everything

of course i went from stock jelly bean rooted to miui, updated miui once or twice then switched to ICS.

Never going back to miui haha
 
rooted and running cm7 on my htc aria. thinking about cm9 but it isn't completely stable on my device yet and i have an upgrade in a couple months
 
I just got upgraded my work phone from HTC 4g shitphone to razr maxx and I fucking love the new battery life
 
I've still got my OG Razr from way back when. Gets the job done. So many kids (Literally kids, like 6-7th grade) in my town have these fancy-ass smartphones and I don't really understand why. You don't really need to spend $200 on a phone like that unless you really need it (i.e. work and constant travel).
