What more can be done??

the sport of skiing has been pushed and pushed and i can't see us being able to push it much further... can we?? i mean tj schiller did a switch 1440... i can't imagine somebody doing much more than that.. doubles are becoming a big thing now, lots of people praticed all sorts of double menuevers at the water ramps this summer... my question is..

where do you guys see the sport going in the next 2, 8, 15 or 30 years??

just give it time. the avenues it will take are unknown. who would have guessed, say 15 years ago, that skiing would be where it is now. only time will tell. no point fretting

watch skimatic

frank raymond- urban urban urban

bibby- butters to corked 5

lolo- grabs, style, corked 1

gagnier- all four 10's, new grabs, different slides

Or pollard's videon on the hh site

Or look at snowboarding

to be honest as much as i love park it wont last another 30 yrs i think the sports going to be more back country booters

just go watch a good snowboard video... they always have been and always will be ahead of us by 3 years. as long as they keep doing new shit, we've always got something to chase.

and are double's really progression? well, i guess as long as it's grabed you could argue that it's progression, but if there is no grab, it's just arials.

if that happens im gonna be pissed. ski resorts are the shit man...thats where the skiing goes on...life serviced even! i hate hiking.

Well there will be park but you won't see it in movies or anything. I mean your average skiier can't just go out and build a booter everytime they go skiing. Park will still be a round just not as big.

There's so many possibilities that we haven't found yet. I don't think we need to find bigger jumps or retartedly big cliffs, there's better stuff than that that won't kill you if you mess up.

I'm excited to see What Pollard will do next year after seeing his stuff from this year

it will eventually get to a point where it will not progress anymore...a person can only start skiing so early and progress to a point where they get old and have to stop progressing.

There will be an end to progression.

were not talking about personal porgression. i think the conversation is about the progression of the sport. i think it heading towards more creative features

i think it can go a lot firther, when newschoolers just started, like thr sport has prgressed so much, i think it can progres even more

i dont think progressing will ever end, in the next couple years i could see doing two grabs in the same trick happening alot, like mute to double nose or something. and if skis change enough we could see alot of huge tail/nose presses, like wayyyyy out, or like pollards nose butter on the box on lines site. i can see tight pants being the cool thing in a couple years.

all this i could see happening in only the next five years. but in like 15 there is no way to tell, i bet parks are gonna be the coolest thing ever in like 15 years though, like skatpark style stuff everywhere, and shit i cant explain.

its cool thinking in like 15 years ill only be like 32 and still skiing and getting better.

but eventually its gonna slow down alot, like snowboarding and skateboarding, like skateboarding 10 years ago wasnt much different at all, but its still changing a little bit.

i could also see flatland type stuff being huge, like doing a bunch of huge butters and spins out and stuff. and oh yeah, i bet poles might be gone in like 5, for park atleast.

i bet people will start doing old school tricks more, like daffys, back scratchers, twisters, but mix those into new tricks. imagine the possibilities, it will never end.

think about it though, it is with snowboarding, and skateboarding, and look at blake nyman or whatever his name is, he is steezy as fuck. but thats one guy.
