I'm looking at a whole lot of skis right now, from 140mm to 89mm. i ski a lot of pow, already have a few skis for park and all mt riding. what do you think is to big for the east?

115(sir francis bacons) might be the widest I would go unless its a ski for a select few of the deepest days(ep pro).

Personally I wouldn’t go any bigger then 95 under foot. If your just skiing the east that’s plenty of width but you still have enough edge pressure to make sharp short turn like you need to do in the woods and still be able to rip over boilerplate. A good ski for pow in the east is the Stockli Stormrider DP pro if you need the twin tip go with the TT. How tall are you?... I would go with the 177.

Locals I worked with in Whistler swore that 105mm was the biggest needed for the northwest, let alone the east. And these guys weren't old school pussies, the rode hard. You only NEED huge skis in like Utah.

The biggest I'd go would be 95. Bigger would work, sure, but it would be a waste.

definetly stick around 100, bacons are gunna be to wide, and the lizzies will be pushing it too, the helix from liberty is at 105, the ski choice is up to you but try to stay 100-105

I'd say around 100. If it's softer, you might be able to fatter.

I'd stick around or below 100.

I rock the seth's, which is 98 under foot. I live in Colorado and 98 is plenty. I use them for my all mountain ski! A lot depends on how you will be able to handle them also, don't get one that will be too much ski.

It's all persoanl preference man. Like said above, some poeople would ski the SFB in the east, and some people only ski something 98 in CO. personally, I never want to ski pow again on anything less than 115 underfoot... 95 is the skinniest I would want to go for a park ski.

If you've got another ski for day to day use, get something like the 181cm thug, short enough to throw around and fat as fuck. Now I don't know where you ski really do it's hard to say...

why not get what you want if you want wide skis get them. i mean i ride a huge skateboard 8.25 - 8.50 andi skate everything and everyone says its too big but i think they are more fun and feel better. just do what feels good for you

and not everyone is pep and andy...they are amazing skiers and better then 95% ofd this site could hope to be. you can ride anything anywhere it just depends on how good of a skier you are and how hard you want to work. hellbents could be really easy for some people, and really difficult for others. id reccomend demoing so you dont end up wasting money on a ski that you cant handle.

depends what you ski. if the ski is for park basically anything like ak enemy or elizabeth. but if you are using it as a pow ski i would say nothing more than like 100 casue its mad hard to turn fat skis in the trees with east coast snow

I didn't say you had to be an immortal ski ninja to ride them bro, all I'm saying is it seems like this kid wants to get some fat skis, so he should. He can always sell them to someone in the west if he changes his mind, but at least he'll giv'er a go. Who cares if you're slaying like a pro or not, it's all about fun, and 'bents look like fun, anybody can learn to nollie/press and butter.

I've heard they are mad fun in pow or park. I would recommend having a park ski as well, but would def be a addition to any quiver
