I made a flatcar rail out of 2x4s and have 2, 4 foot sections and an 8 foot section, that are attached by hinges, so you can make each section whatever angle you want.... So I need some sort of material that I can use to cover the top, but it needs to be thick and flexible... any ideas???

trex decking material, it's like plastic recycled wood stuff that works okay. also flat pvc will bend and slides well.

eh, it has to be the 100% plastic type. i tried the kind with plastic and woodchips mixed in and its far too soft.

yep, mine has a few dents/scratches, but it is/can be made into a rainbow which is sick. Also really cheap similar to PVC. You can get 100% plastic version too I believe.

make a metal one its worth it in the long wrong it will last longer and provide a more realistic rail expierance in your back yard

the trex/composite decking works awesome as long as its cold, Had some good crashes come spring time on that stuff. Edges cut in easliy once its warm, Much better to ride on in cold temps

HDPE is pretty expensive and you might need to order online depending on what your local hardware store supplies. id go with pvc pipe or pvc sheets. there used for decking and they work pretty nice.

Hahaha this. But pvc is the cheapest most likely and slides perfectly. I think you can actually buy flat pvc.
