what makes skiing different from ther sports

I was just thinking about what is different betweek like skateboarding and skiing. I think the maid thing is that for the most part you can only ski during a couple months of the year hear at least. So for a big part of the year all you tink about is how much you want to ski and how awesome it feels. With skateboarding anytime of the year you can go and do it so i think you take it for granted. My ski season is so short every single day no matter how shitty i love. So maybe that is what makes skiing or any seasonal sport different from another sport you could walk out your house and do any day. Maybe surfing is the same if you are in the NE or somewhere too. Anyone agree, disagree?

i guess i agree, for me though one of the big reasons is cuz im good at it and i suck at all other sports, along with the fact that it kicks ass

i think its different from stuff like baseball and soccer and stuff cuz its completely freeing. no rules or guidlines involved. but its like skatboarding that way so i dunno...

Its different than team sports like hockey and baseball, but its the same as snowboarding or something like that. All extreme sports, bmx, skating, surfing, skiing, etc, are basicly the same thing, just different mechanics.

skiing is different then most all sports, b/c there is so much room for improvement and progression due to the sport being so new(newschool that is).

You cant bust out 30ft high corked 7s on a skateboard, nor can you ski a crazy steep chute in waist high pow, no other feeling comes close...well flying.

What other sport can you go as big as you can in skiing? Freestyle MotoX maybe, but there you have a 100lb+ bike between you and the ground, not a 3lb plank binded to each foot.

What looks more impressive to the untrained eye: A snowboarder riding switch or a skiier riding switch?

Skiing is much more of an investment in time and money than most other extreme sports.

yeah, i only got like 20-25 ski days at most last season. probably closer to about 18. it is special that way, because it's so rare that you get to actually quit wishing you were doing it and to go do it.

 
your right, but you can surf all year round if you have a good, super thick wetsuit, and alot of surfers like the winter surfing here in jersey just as much as the summer, if not more cause the waves are bigger because of winter swells.
