What makes PE's different from Chronics?

I'm getting new skis TODAY and i dont want to F up my choice. I ski east and want an all mtn twin. A previous post said PE's are better then Chronics for all mtn but i'm still not convinced. I think i'm going with the Chronics.

PEs are really stiff. i heard they werent that good in the park. id go with chronics if i were you. one oof my freinds has pe's and he likes them but alot of my friends say they are poop in the park

I have the PE's...It depends on what you want to do...If you want a stiff all mountain ski, to ski everywhere and by the way, they are awesome in the park...I think they are even better than my 1080's...Well thats what I think...And if you want a strickly park ski, with a little bit of all mountain, get the chronic...I was in the same situation last year, And Im reealy glad I went with the PE's

the contructions of the public enemies are much strong by far. the chronics are just a macroblocked core with fiberglass just laying around it. normal top sheet and caped sidewalls. all of that is substandard to the newschool ski. i have a pair for this years publics. they are a macroblocked core with fiber glass actually braded in like three or four different ways around the core to ensure strength and to keep the dampening of the ski. thick edges with a ptex sidewalls and a Ptex topsheet. they also have three really sick and amazing flex points and when flex one they other stays strong. (no idea how is works but super kewl)

my pes turned to noodles cause i skied them so much....but it was a great ski. I only got one crack in the edge, and slight delamination.as for the chronic, i cant say much, but both are nice skis.

i liked me pe's but when i tries some chrons they were unreal.

have to get low have to get high

I dont know what people are talking about that pe's are heavy. They are not heavy! If you find them heavy, you will adjust to them and get stronger legs basicly.

haha. your description of the chronic's construction was stupid:

"just has a macroblocked core" --> yup, a macroblock core featuring the thickest wood laminates you can get with the least glue. this means a more predictable and durable core with less weight.

"it just sits in the fiberglass" --> WRONG. line uses a four direction fiberglass wrap. that's right, FOUR directions, not the THREE used in k2's triaxially braided fiberglass. this means the line ski is great for torsional rigidity.

"the cap sucks" (or something to that effect, i don't really remember) --> the vertical cap construction allows power from the skier to be transferred directly down to the edges of the ski. it's also SUPER durable because line got all their shit figured out in the last couple years. no more delams, no need for gold plated tip rivets, and no need at all to be bashing on the chronic's construction.

in conclusion, spreading lies and ignorance across NS is a poor choice. eat poo poo.

my level of radness... it just can't... be quantified.

Chronics are really stiff too. with the carbon ollie band its supposed to take what flex you give the ski and pop twice as powerfully as a normal wood core ski. So its stiffer too. Thats why its used in Big Air comps and the Invader is usually not.
