What made you start freeskiing?

the last day of one season i learned 180s on gaper skis and me and my friend did the whole day in the park. that summer a kid from tahoe moved to kirkland and i got a pair of used dynastar troublemakers for 100$ and started. that season edias came out. good times

I've skied since I was 14, but got into Freestyle skiing in 09' because of my son Kyle, who introduced me to Tom Wallisch and 4bi9 via YouTube.It was love, for the sport, at 1st sight of Tom's Super Unknown edit. I rode my 1st box at age 48 haha

That was a huge factor for me as well. Whenever I went over to my friends house we would play that, and we thought the skiing was the coolest thing ever. Then we both watched Twall's superunkown edit. Our minds were both blown and the next winter we started freeskiing.
 
Skied since I was 4, started skateboarding when I was 10-11, one year decided to go at skiing the same way I went at skateboarding. Also riding with friends who always rode in the park.
 
ive been a skier all my life but i only started freestyle last season when i saw some kids at my local park, decided to try it and ended up having fun. now im addicted
 
Freeze!!! and damn, Dave Chrighton's alley oop Flatspin 5 at the WSI. Just Dave C. generally... dude just went so hard, and hey was so freaking cool. That's what did it for me.

A close second are CR Johnson and Candide Thovex out-boosting Shaun White in the 2000 (?) X games, with CR going for a GIGANTIC 1080 and decking, and Thovex just keeping things big, casual, and smooth in the pipe.

Man, that was a long time ago!
 

Skiing the Midwest with Ahmet Dadali, Mike Hornbeck, and Edollo

When my friend took me into a terrain park in third grade, I saw him slide across these odd white things. For some reason i thought they were gravestones for people who died there...

I got into free skiing about a year later, but that introduced to it. The edit above was and still is one of my favorite edits that got me pumped to ski
 
being stuck on the east coast with inconsistent pow...i guess you could call pow skiing freeskiing too though.
