What mac should i choose ?

I can get either core duo 2 imac 2.4 ghz 1gb ram 320gb HD 20" for $1300 shipped

and struggle to find another $75 paypal to pay for the gay tax

or

core duo 2 imac 2.0ghz 250 gb HD for $1100 shipped and upgrade for 2gb and be able to pay for it right now

just dont know how much difference .4ghz is gona make in editing/afx/rendering

 
wait so if you go with the cheaper one you could get 2 gigs of RAM? if thats the case i say go for that 2 gigs of ram from 1 gig is a muchhh bigger difference than 2 to 2.4 ghz. ur gonna wanna buy an external hard drive for editing too so ull need a little extra cash after this purchase....
 
ya i know externals are cheap tho...

the main thing is i would be able to pay for the cheaper one right now instead of hustling to get another $25

all of this is through ebay i already won the 2.4

i just have heard mixed things that there is a big difference between the 2.0 speed and 2.4

 
It'll make a slight difference. I'd go for the 2.4 then upgrade the RAM in a few months when you have cash.
 
i went with the 2.4 cuz i learned it has a better graphics card which makes a big difference for FCP and yeah ill throw in 3 more gb of ram when i can afford it shuld run all that shit pretty fast

mac pro's are way too expensie for me
 
I would have chosen num. one prolly but hey thats your choice. I'm running a Macbook Pro 15" screen with 2.4 gig processor
 
cuz mac pros cost 2k+ and its the faster and cheaper than macbook pro and mac mini... and you get a 20" widescreen HD display so that leaves you with the new imac
