What lights?

Im really wanting to get more into photos. I have a decent setup, but really want to add some sort of off camera lighting to the collection. Is there anything you could recommend? I know theres always the foolproof option of getting the canon speedlights, but I know they run pretty pricey. Thanks in advance.

and as far as lights

i think the Vivitar 285-HV was pretty popular on here a while back

the Yonguno line has def been making more headway recently

and alien bees seem to be top tier as far as the whole affordability thing goes

hope that gives you a place to start
