What kind of wood?

what kind holds up well outdoors. im gonna have to store my rails outside so i dont want something thats gonna warp in the rain

you could always put on a waterproof coating, like for decks

You can buy treated wood, but alot of that is woarped when you buy it. or you can just paint it or treat the wood yourself

go for pressure treated if u want the stuff to last a long time. thats what all the posts for the decking and railings are made out of. the only problem is its way more expensive. when u go to a home deopt or lowes or whatever is around you you can see the wood and whether or not its warped.

Well, if I wanted to be an asshole...

The wood you get from trees, you know the woody stuff, that works great...

But if you can get pressure treated 4x's, as said already. The 2x4s work fine too but the bigger board wont warp and shit as much, and either way at least spray a coat of something on there, it wont rot if its treated but I've had screws rip out and shit.

please tell me how you can treat wood yourself. Do you have a massive tank that reaches extremly high pressures and forces chemicals into the wood?
