Unless youre a chick (no offense to chicks or you) I dont think you have the skills to be sponsored, thats just reality, I mean probably 75% of the peeps on this board are at that level or better. As for sponsors, take any you can get, if its a freggin grocery store take it, its not like you can have too many sponsors and free is free whether its money and gear or a free lunch. Keep trying tho, skiing should be fun and getting sponsors is just a plus. By the way only like 10 ppl are really good/popular enough to pick their sponsors.

a chick htat i ride with can do fronts, backs, misties, and spins up to 540. she also rips powpow like no other. she doesnt have anysponsors. get better.

hmm. that came out wrong, Jodi's a hot chick, not a man, but yeah, she's all over the promotions scence at Blue Mt. So people notice her and want to be cool like her and buy head because of it. So yeah, even though she can win comps, she's sponsored for more reason's that that.

look around for sponsors but the main thing is to go in comps the more comps the more experence and the more experince the better placeing and the better placeing looks alot better when you send a letter to a company and the company doesnt have to be big it can be a small company like joes conveinece ect

 
I know some dude that can do clean cork 900s no problem, rodeo5s, D-spin 900s all smooth. He's not sponsored. Maby that tells you something...

As for looking for sponsors, making a tape and sending it to your favorite companies helps, and if they like what they see then all the better :)

Cedric - From what i have seen in video and pics....you are a kick ass skier...I think one problem may be that you live in the middle of nowher...lol..thats what you tell me anyways..haha. If you lived somewhere that would get you more coverage then maybe you would get sponsered...or maybe you just need to send out videos to companies..

To all the other rippers who are good, so many ppl can do dspins and corks and what not nowdays, theres probably 5 ppl that come to my hill (in Wisconsin!) that can do dspins and other clean advanced tricks. You need to stick out or know somebody, have something unique or whatever. Thats my take on it anyway.

i blow i can do 360 grabs 540 grabs, and 720's...some mistys.. and working on other shit.. you dont need a big bag of tricks to get sponsored. anyone can huck...its style that is practiced and preeched by sponsors. thats how i got my sponsors...not by hucking but by aquiring some style... im tellin ya its the key...i perfer a stylie 360 reverse tail then a misty 9 mute thats so fast you cant even see it...ya kno

First of al faTe......you obviously are already sponsored......by your parents that is and if I was your sponsor....I definitely advise you to spend more time learning the english language and less time on the slopes because from the sound of things(your spelling and grammar), you are landing on your head too much.

go to line ski's website and they will tell you all about what u should do to be sponsered, and then if your skies arent Line then send the tape to the company that your skis are.

being sponsored isn't about how many tricks you can do. its about if the company can market you well enough to buy their skis.

hey i apologize for being so harsh......you are searching for false dreams...skiing isn't about being sponsored or talking about it...or taking pretty pictures of skiing.......skiing is about going out there each and everyday and skiing...thats what is about...but if you want to try getting sponsored.....try going out there and entering a competition....win it and...you will get noticed....

wow theres a lot of retarded people here. If your a girl and you can throw down all that stuff you can def. get some sponsers. A lot of people say you should just ski for fun and this is absolutely true but these are also the people whos mommies and daddies pay for all their equipment and they dont need to work to get their shit to ski. Good luck with the sponserships i dont think you should have a prob just do well at some comps and your set.

key to getting sponsored I think is smoothness cleanness, consistency, if you float the trick or huck it, throw it huge and smooth with grabs and stuff win some comps and sponsor migth come loking for you hehe thats what a coach told me lol

 
for chicks i think it makes a big difference to the companys that you are hot, which sucks but ohwell that is how it is.

 
You don`t have to know somebody! Just be youself and improve... There will be the day coming up to get sponsored! Go for contests and keep in touch with the stores at your resort!

If you have a good look and attitude, you have a better chance of getting sponsered. Companies look for people that are always skiing, and are noticeable, even it is for their attitude in combination with their skiing. If you got a Glen Plake mohawk, you can let the sponsors come to you.
