What kind of car should I buy?

.... Just cause NS is all over Subies dick, doesnt mean you have to name off their slowest cars. Unless he's getting the Outback 2.5xt or something.

But if you were actually looking to get a Subaru, check out an SVX or older WRX.

unless your tryin to make insane numbers adn make a drag ar, where a manual wont shift fast enough, id skip that one. youre gonna regret gettingan auto teh first time you drive it.

Who don't you either buy a new mustang or a 60's-70's musce car instead of a muscle car from the 80's and 90's, when muscle cars were at there worst. Thats the ugliest years of mustangs, and trans am? Come on, why even get post 70's trans am?

autos suck if you arent dragging it

is that not reason enough?

also, they're far less fun to drive

when you have a fast car like a 5.0, your gonna want to beat it a little, burnouts and redline shifts, ect... autos make that hard/impossible to do. not to mention any upgrades are not fully maximized on an auto, and autos generally start to break(tranny wise) before hand, shifts get fucked up, little shit. not to mention manuals are just soooooo much more fun to drave no matter which car your rolling!

please dont buy a mustang, or pretty much any muscle car, your gonna regret it. you may think it makes you look tough, but people will only laugh at you when they see you looking like a tool in an old POS mustang. plus mustangs are the most generic "sports cars" ever, every teenage girl wants a fucking mustang cause they will look hawt in their new tool mobile. that or they want a jeep, jeeps and mustangs are every teenage girls dream car.ive driven a friends 2000 mustang gt and i hated everything about it, it was slow as shit, had the most numb steering feel ever, it was as shitty as it could get in the corners, brakes felt like shit, it had shit for feedback, extremely poor balance, and just overall a shitty car.
dont buy a car based on engine size, anybody who knows anything about sports cars or cars in general agrees that power to weight ratio is everything, buying a car because it has a v8 is extremely dumb. there are 4 cyl cars out there with more power a better power band and in a much lighter car that you can get for the same price. bragging about your v8 is for hicks and anyone who's dumb as shit.
if you drink protein powder every day, jack off to football games, pump iron nonstop so you can kick ass in your xs tapout shirt, then get a mustang, i dont think anything could stop you.but if you have any desire for a good performing reliable, and good looking car, the mustang is the last thing you should buy.
if i were you id look into old bmw's and mercedes, they make so many older cars that are fucking tanks, handle extremely well, and accelerate just as well as most modern sports cars.
i looked for like 2 minutes and found all thesehttp://detroit.craigslist.org/cto/1212180036.htmlhttp://detroit.craigslist.org/ctd/1211696894.htmlhttp://detroit.craigslist.org/cto/1210620196.htmlhttp://detroit.craigslist.org/cto/1208734230.htmlhttp://detroit.craigslist.org/cto/1201134074.htmlhttp://detroit.craigslist.org/cto/1182742149.html

haven't read whole thread, so might have been said before.

Subaru outback. Just to make it obvious you're a ski bum. Also, keep a tent in the trunk and camp out in ski resort parking lots.

i didnt say v8's are shit, i said that a car having a v8 doesnt mean anything, they can be good engines and they can be bad, but still most stupid people will think that just the fact that their car has 8 cylinders, it means its awesome. i dont mind some muscle cars, i think oldschool muscle cars can be cool, much cooler than any new one, they atleast had character, and back then it was something new and original, now its just overdone and most companies are going back to their oldschool styling because they cant come up with anything creative.
still weight is the enemy of any sports car, ask anybody that knows something about cars or racing. and muscle cars are fat heavy pigs, which is the last thing you want with a high performance car. if all you care about is going straight, then fine, have fun doing something that takes absolutely no skill, and even then, size and weight is bad. something like a miata is more of a sports car than any mustang could ever hope to be.
i think americans can make decent cars, look at the corvette, its an amazing car, id never own one just because there are a ton of cars id choose before it, but it handles brakes, and accelerates extremely well, and it has well balanced cornering characteristics. and the solstice is a great car (though its really a vauxhall with pontiac badges)
whatever im just saying if you want a good sports car, dont look at a muscle car, cause its not. if you want a car to cruise around in and look tough with your ripped sleves and tattoos, then go ahead and get one. if your gonna get one, atleast get an old one.

bimmers are dope, but tehy are 100% different from a fox body. fox's are cheap, decently fast, semi sporty cars. bimmers are( at least the 5 series int eh first link) 4 door cruisers, also fairly fast, but not anywhere in the same class as a fox.i feel ya on teh v8 vs 4bangers. ive got a 2.0t saab, it could probably stay semi close to him on a highway pull, but i couldnt do much but that. they are just different cars, and thats all there is to it. its all preference, and a v8s gonna sound better than any 4 banger i know.

i dont know much about older 5 and 7 series bimmers, im assuming most of them could keep up in a straight line, and they all could outhandle and out brake. if i were to get an older bimmer it would be an e30, an is will keep up with most newer bimmers easy, and they are some of the best handling cars out there, plus you can get swapped e30's for like 5 grand.there are still so many different cars out there for his price range that are plenty fast and will outrun a fox body in any category.

ehhh i doubt anything besides the e30 m3 could keep up with the 5.0, and it probs couldnt.
what swaps? mabye the stock engine turboed for 5k, but thats doubtful.

if all you want is a car that sounds cool, then look at the v8 bimmers, or really any bimmer. audi's turbo 5's, and pretty much any mercedes, also look at old rx7's and supra's. any of those cars with a couple hundred in exhaust will sound great, especially a bimmer or mercedes.
4 cylinders dont neccesarily sound bad, its just that everyone has to put dumb fucking cans on them and they sound like shit.
=relatedthere, this car is stock, and could definatly be found for under 4 grand, its got exhaust which will be a couple more hundred and theres your cool sound
heres a 4cyl, and it sounds better than any 8 cyl mustang ive ever heard.. though the car is way more than you could probably afford, it just shows a 4cyl can sound awesome

older bimmers arent made to get good 0-60 times, they are all about good speed from a roll, which is whats important. you would be very suprised how fast they can be, and they just keep on accelerating and accelerating... look at saab, their 9-5 turbo wagon gets from something like 50-80 faster than a 911 turbo. and it get a 0-60 time no better than an average honda. those german "autobahn cruisers" can haul so much ass.
but you can definatly find some swapped e30's for under 5k, they wont be the most built cars ever, but they definatly will pull hard, and there are also plenty of turbo'd e30's out there, you can find s52 (e36 m3 engine) swapped e30's for like 8.

yep aeros pull harder than some ferrari as well, i fucking love my saab haha. i dont know much bout older bimmers, but i think this guy just wants that deep v8 muscle car sound, adn the fox fits that for cheap. plus maintence is cheap too compared to an older bmw
