As a very appreciative person of the GW Lifetime Achievement Awards I want to know why the hell it just got deleted.

It was deleted earlier, too, then un-deleted, and now apparently re-deleted. I guess I'll wait till kamikaze is on, then we can figure this out.

John Andrew Steward, a rich kid from Georgia, will not hesitate for a moment to tell you exactly what he\\\'s thinking (and I use that term loosely). His over 2000 posts make him one of the most prolific retards on our list, and he\\\'s become something of a legend on this website, representing the ever-growing intellectually devoid section of the membership here at NS.com. In fact, when the Golden Wheelchair award was first conceived, there was some talk of naming it after him, as a dedication. Also among his qualifications are his being named so often to Crystal-Needs-A-Park\\\'s honorary hall of fame for stupid posts, that the proprietor was forced to abandon the project: Atlantaski simply flooded it too quickly. Further, he had more entries into the original Hall of Fame for Stupid Posts than any other member of Newschoolers.com. Though he went into temporary retirement a few months ago, he has recently returned with a vengeance and, far from missing a beat, has stepped his stupidity up to new heights, recently capturing a GW award for mocking Trevor Peterson. He is fully deserving of his place near the top of this list

 
I deleted it the first time. Capurnicus put it back. I then expressed my point of views on it and Capurnicus and other mods agreed and they deleted it the second time. End of story.

Basically I said that SOME people on the list are harmless and don't deserve to be slandered like that, even if they are dumb. I enjoy being a member of the golden wheelchair cult (oh the irony), but there is a line when it comes to picking on people, and I think that crossed it. Sorry all. I will take full responsibility for its removal and you can all hate / flame me all you like.

Good lord... is that the reason? You know, if you're going to enforce a rule, you could at the very least do it with some consistency. Every single person on that list is regularly flamed on these boards, to far worse degree than something so harmless and non-serious as that list. As I've said before, if pointing out the shortcomings of others has become unacceptable here, we're going to notice a very, very steep decline in the number of posts... that is, unless such a rule is enforced selectively...

What I'm saying is this. The mods do their best to enforce the rules on this site. However, if you're going to have a rule that says 'No poking fun at people', it doesn't seem particularly fair to act on it only when the poking of fun is expressed in extravagant, comically overblown form, as was the case here. I realize this is coming from my biased perspective, but honestly, considering some of the downright offensive things that are posted on this forum (usually directed at other members), this seemed fairly harmless and I was surprised to see it deleted.

That said, Jay, if you could let me know exactly what part of it caused the problem, I can edit it out of the post, and we'll know what not to include from now on in GW posts.

Oh, and sorry to Atlantaski... I know he very much enjoyed that post, considering all the attention he was getting.

Personally, I think the GW awards was a hilarious blessing that truthfully and fairly expressed the 10 top irratating and idiotic people on NS. No one dislikes the dicision, look at the biggining of this thread, atlantaski thought it was good! I say that shouldnt be cencored, if you hot girl thread is still out, you CANNOT cencor the GW awards.

I think the reason it got deleted was it was too good, it was quite possible the best display of flaming i have ever seen. Some kids can only come up with basic lines like 'You Suck'. But that award thing was the most in depth, comprehensive flaming i have ever seen. Although every kid on there deserved it i just dont think the moderators allow such an amazing piece of flaming literature to stand unattested while the poor morons it is moking have no intellegent way to defend themselves

I think this whole thing was taken to way seriously. It's the internet. If people really care that much about what others think of them on an ANONYMOUS forum, they have bigger fish to fry. This has to be taken in stride. That thread did single out specific members, but in retrospect it pales in comparison to some of the trash that gets posted here on a regular basis. Some of people here are actually mature enough to take a joke, It's really a shame that some people here can't. This whole thing is ludicrous and has been blown out of proportion.
