are most sponsors just looking for your skills in the park?or will the care if you can throw big tricks off of cliffs basically what type of skiing is easiest to get sponsored?thanx

dont ski to get sponsored, ski to have fun, if you get sponsored along the way, so be it.

but to answer your question...idk

ya ill post them as the season goes on i broke my camera this summer but Christmas is rolling around so ill have some up in a few weeks.

im ok in the park not stellar i can to rails i can land 540s but im way better at big mountain stuff alot of back country and big cliffs just like having fun

Well getting sponsored is a lot about having hookups to companies/stores, as well as being an all around good skier.

This kid is not sponsored, but an amazing skier

There are sooo many sponsor threads.
I normally don't call repost but shit if you type in "sponsored" or "sponsor" into search bar there will tons of threads.

hey thanks for the advice im gonna talk to some friends that own ski and golf see what they can do and monsters pretty easy i was thinkin them but thanks for the advice k+

know the right people and suck a little dick

that's all you need to know to get ahead in the world

or you can not give a fuck and do your own goddamn thing. welcome to the future

mehh. no. ok start off going into a specific ski store and get to know all the people there. they will probably start hooking you up with like 15-30% off. keep going in and possibly ask for a small sponsorship. work your way up from there. keep going in, meet reps at the store. get to know more people. always stay real happy and enthusiastic. affter a while look for sponsor openings and ask the manager to recommend you. ask more people to reccommend you, then send the rep an email saying hey. try to include contest results in the email. im not a sick skier but i got to know people who knew people who knew more people and they all reccomended me to companies. the companies saw potential and needed a skier and picked me because i was somewhat known throughout the local community. the key thing is to get yourself out there and meeting people. it is a lot of hard work to get there but if you try hard it'll come fairly quickly and easily. i hope this doesnt make me sound cocky. i was in your position two years ago. just get out there

I copy and pasted this from a post of mine in another thread. There really should be a sticky...then again, maybe not...

Step 1: STOP CARING ABOUT GETTING SPONSORED!! - it makes you look desperate or that you only care about the status/getting free stuff. Companies want riders who can do something for them, not what they can do for you.

Step 2: Go to local shops on a regular basis, every now and then, buy stuff, but mostly just hang out and have them get to know you. These are going to be the biggest key to getting names of reps.

Step 3: Find the local reps in your area - the company doesn't really matter, but the more people you know the better

Step 4: Figure out what makes YOU special and what YOU can do for the company you're looking to get sponsored by - be specific - don't just list tricks or anything like that, companies could really care less about what tricks you can do, they care more about you're marketability - what makes you stand out on the mountain and why people would buy a product that you're riding.

Step 5: Put together and edit of your riding style, make it look good, but don't make it look too gangster or anything like that, just have it show a bit of what you can do and what you look like on the hill - again, marketability.

Step 6: Come up with a plan and goals for the season - what are you planning to do...compete, film, whatever - stand out!!

Step 7: Talk to your local shop first, they're the easiest to get a sponsor with and once you're sponsored by someone, it's easier to get other sponsors, plus they know all the reps and can get you involved with them

Step 8: contact reps and let them know of your goals and show them your edit

Step 9: Once you've gotten sponsored, you have to work for them now, keep progressing and constantly keep in contact with your reps/team managers

Honestly, getting a sponsor isn't all that it's cracked up to be, it's a lot of work and you're constantly skiing for someone else, you're no longer skiing for yourself.

Obvious troll is obvious.....

Just go ski, if your good enough to get sponsored they will come to you. If you have to ask your not ready.

Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Yeah, skiing isn't all about getting sponsored and making money (although it is nice), just focus on having fun and getting better. Also a 5 isn't necessarily bad but sponsors can get a more skilled (in park) skiers. Also sponsors take a lot of notice in events and competitions you take place in (especially if you rank high), so maybe try out a couple (even if you're not amazing at park it will be a good experience and you can pick up a couple tricks along the way). PM me if you have anything else I can help you out with, and KEEP SKIING.

i feel like in the last couple of weeks there been like four threads asking basically the same question and all the responses have been the same.
can i get sponsored?
ski for yourself and sponsors will come to you if your good enough.

If I were a team manager for a company and I was looking to add some riders to my team, I would look for skiers that look at all aspects of skiing rather than just one.

Rule #1: Don't go looking for sponsors. Sure, you'll get some if you go out searching for them every minute you're awake, but thats not really what its about. I'm sure that you ski because you just genuinely love skiing like the rest of us. So go out and ski, practice, get good, and ski in a lot of competitions. Consistent good scores and high rankings across various competitions will beat out a crazy edit any day. I mean, unless its like, the next Tom Wallisch or something.
But the point is, the good sponsors will come to you. The bad ones wont.

Honestly, just spend a lot of time at your local store, and ski as much as possible. Join a freeskiing or moguls team, it will help you get a lot better, and if you stick with it, work hard no matter how shitty it is or not stoked you are, and make sacrifices, you will probably get good at skiing and pay less for gear than everyone else.

Don't worry that much about getting sponsored man, just get good at all types of skiing and compete as much as possible. That's really the best way to do it.

Yeah as it has been said, If you are dying to get sponsored ya gotta get your name out there and show the reps why your a good asset for them.

No...like the person local sponsored kids go to get their stuff...like Dan Villaire (the guy in the Line booth at the CO Jam)

This is true...but it's better to try and get the names out of them, and then contact them, and then ask the person who is already sponsored to say "hey, I heard _______ talked to you, you should really consider picking him up, good kid who's always fun and slays hard"...

i just recently pickled up a sponsor. heres my best advice.
first, theylook at things such as competition results, filming, style, and your overall ability to help promote their business. mostly every big name skiier starts with a shop sponsor. Shop employees, owners, and marketers are business people. They give a shit about how "AWESOME" your bag of tricks is... They want to know how you're "Awesome" bag of tricks are going to get thier shop name out there, represent it well, and bring people into the store for one reason.... TO MAKE SALES (i.e. MONEY!)
You'll need a legit plan on how you're going to do that. The edit will help showcase your skills but without a plan on how you're going to make them MONEY, the most you'll get is some free shop tees and stickers to hand out to friends.

MAKE A PLAN and then FOLLOW THROUGH with it. These shops and thier buyers will turn you onto and hook you up with the company reps that actually offer sponsorships, make videos, and can hopefully one-day PAY YOU as a PRO.

If none of this works, rely on social websites : www.stillnotsponsored.com, www.sponsorhouse.com, Social Websites like these is how you get you name out, how you spread the word about products, and how companies MAKE MONEY!
best of luck.
