Shameless plug for my neighbor. He is a high end custom furniture and cabinet maker. Imagine the guy Norm from the New Yankee Workshop. He has been making longboards for awhile now and has gotten them dialed in.

Bearings: Gravity ABEC5
Risers: Gravity Angled
Wheels: Gravity 66mm
Wood: 7ply Hardrock Maple

Really short and wide board kinda use it for crusing campus and carving the living shit out of hills. If you get going faster than 15 or 20 mph it wobbles to shit and usually bucks you off.... so emphasis on carving the shit out of it

sorry for the double post.
I'm planning on taking basically everything off the deck and putting it on like a 40 inch pintail deck or something like that. We'll see

hey Ive been thinking about getting a longboard, and instead of making a whole new thread ill just post in here. I want a KS Scimitar, but I really don't know what length to get, or wheels, or if i should get glass. Im a complete beginner and am 170 lbs and 6 foot

sorry for thread jack, and + k to all responses

check out landyachtz boards theyre awesome. Im the same except a few inches taller and i just got the switch 37, its a great commuter thats still able to slay some pretty huge hills cause its dropped platform and W concave makes it really stable underfoot. In retrospect i easily couldve gotten away with the regular switch (its bigger) but i wanted something a lil more compact.

E-mail them. I've heard that the owner is super helpful and can let you know what setup would work best for your needs. Personally, I like Paris trucks and I tend to stick with basic wheels in a 78 duro for all around riding. Reds work great for a good, budget bearing.

I e-mailed him a while ago and just got a generic email back, that didn't answer any of my questions. but maybe ill try again, it sound like a lot of people have talked to him and he's helped them out

I made both of these decks

This has the blue bustin wheels and randal 150s, it's what I ride to class.

This has got red paris 180s and 3dm cambrias, I've been using it as my hill bomber but since I've came home from school my hill selection has gone to near zero.
