What Is Your IQ?

Pull out as many high numbers as you want, but I've read the damn posts on here, and I highly doubt there are more than 20 or 30 people on NS with an IQ of 140 or above. So everyone saying 150-160something? I have some bad news...

no jd, we're all obvious intellectual superiors compared to the rest of the world. no really it says so on an internet iq test. seriously. and the sad thing is that mine really is only about 70 after all the pot i've smoked.

i just took one of those online ones somone posted.... i got 103.... but i got bored so i didn't read half the test.... so i have no clue what mine really is

 
i took the one on emode and got a 166, but in a real one that I took about a year and a half ago i got a 151. I highly doubt the effectiveness of the online tests because when I take them I feel very confident that I get them all right. I probably screw up and make a dumb mistake somewhere along the way, but i'm sure that some fools just rack up a perfect score and they aren't really anywhere near a 200 IQ.

JD forgets that the average NS user has far less life experience and education than he does, which would obviously matter in how they form responses to topics posted by others. These responses are what the NS community would use to judge their 'intelligence level', in the absence of actually knowing an individual personally.

I tested at gifted level a long time ago. I was the smart kid, so I got shoved into garbage cans and beat up. Fun times.

I think the whole scheme behind the Iq test's are they figured their particular tests would be more popular if they consistantly gave out higher scores so more people would take them and feel good about themsleves and brag to their friends or a website about their scores so the sites began slowly began competing for the easiest test. In 8th grade they did all kidsn of tests to me one week (had to fill out a test to determine if I was crazy) also one of the tests was IQ administered by a pyschologist and i got a 138 although on these websites I score about the same. so how knows maybe they are as biased as the real ones.

They aren't a true measurement of inteligence, all IQ tests are contaminated by culture, one of my friends here in Scotland took an online IQ test and one of the questions was about baseball because the test was from the States. Therefore that affected his 'inteligence level'? Yea right.

The results on here are quite funny, the average throughout the population should be 100, but only one or two people have said they have got below this, and the majority are claiming between 130 and 160.

Read Kevin Warwick's book, 'QI'. You read it JD? Really brings a new outlook on persieved inteligence. My official IQ score is 144, not outstanding, but inteligence can't be measured.

I took one on iqtest.com wile i was stoned and i got 147! But I think it's bullshit, my roomate did it as well and he got 152. We both fall in the 'genius' range..

 
I was invited to join mensa, but I didn't really want to. That was a long time ago, too, I was like 13. And no, I've never read QI, it's not really my kind of thing...but 144 is actually outstanding, if that's your actual IQ, that's more than fairly impressive. Who took the test?

my results are at home. I did really well but I never apply myself. I'm told serial killers are usually intelligent white males so I think I've found my calling.

This neurologist took loads of tests on me because I've developed a reaction to adrenaline that is quite impressive. My GP refered me to her and she did the tests. She found the results 'interesting' and took a 2nd set of tests, one was an official IQ test.

I was in a gifted program in school, you had to get 99% on a huge test to get in.

whatever, Iq has some merit, and has an indication of thought process, but it's non-indicitave of your connection of those thoughts into arguement or analysis.

how do you go about getting a real IQ test? iv always wanted to do one. the closet i did was in grade 3 the CCAT testing to see if i was 'gifted'

I got a 152 and in other test 1300 SAT 32 ACT. IQ and intelligence though are nothing. I'm ranked 72 at my school in GPA yet in test scores like 4 or 5. Its retarded test scores are a small part of the picture

yeah i was selected to take this special test in 9th grade because of my class rank, and i supposedly did really well on it because all these private gifted schools kept hounding my letterbox. i just told them all to fuck off, and that i just wanted to slack off at public highschool with my friends. being smart is overrated.

Is Bush really scoring a 98? I personally refuse to believe that, he said that the Pakistani Leader was 'Asia'. I saw it in an interview on the BBC, was a joke, everyone in Britain laughed at him. There were a few other things he really struggled with, his puppeteers weren't there to back him up.

And iq doesen't measure your intelligence, but more like the speed at which you process the information given to you. (I think. Dont bah me if im wrong). I don't think you can really give a grade for their intelligence, its more of a 'you are, are not or are somewhat' thing.

Naw man, you're right, it's very hard to measure, if not impossible. Cultural contamination of the test is certain, the only way a test could be unbias would be to have a test purely based on shapes and numbers. But that has a few flaws as well. It's hard to explain. Read QI by Kevin Warwick. It's a good book, helps in this subject.

IQ measure potential, not speed, its more shape recognition and memorization, and has alot to do with dry facts and math/ patterns. i got to skip a week of school when i was in 5th grae to go take a bigass iq test and got a buck forty seven, same as on the iqtest.com 5 syears later
