For me, it's the Monte Christo at The N.A.G. in Londonderry. Double decker w/ ham & grafton cheddar on one level, turkey and swiss on the other- the bread is extra thick cut and then the whole thing gets dipped in egg and rolled in either corn flakes or Cap'n crunch breading and fried then served with a tub of premium local maple syrup for dipping.
It's fucking incredible. ( Picture is the one goddam time I order it without cf breading. DAMN! )
But yeah a plain toasted bagel with strawberry cream cheese from Einstein Bros. or if I feel like I need something extra I might stop at Sheetz and get a burrito
that IS NOT a croque monsieur. That is a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. A croque monsieur is an open faced sandwhich with Grueyere cheese, ham, and more grueyere cheese. It's meant to be eaten with a knife and fork
