well, whatever you say buddy but in every single Belgian restaurant that's a croque monsieur ....

anyways, that shits good ! wether it's with gruyere or emmental and you eat it with your hands or knife and fork, i love that stuff!

Could be the belgians do it differently. In the states its not uncommon to have grilled cheese with ham. It's no different than adding cheese to a hamburger.

I have had a few of them in paris and they were all open faced sandwiches. Some had two slices of bread, some had one slice of bread, but the distinguishing characteristic is the Gruyere cheese melting over the top of it
