Apparently 30 percent of kids admit to stealing from a store in the last year and 64 percent admit to cheating on a test. This really pisses me off because I hate thiefs(my families been robbed twice this year) and dumbass kids get better grades than me because they cheat on shit. Where has the common decency gone? 93% said they thought their behavior was better than most people they know. What the fuck is wrong with america?

i was just as pissed, until i realized high school was a joke so i started cheating on tests too. do it, don't get caught, it's not that bad trust me.

haha, well i think it might have something to do with their upbringing. and there are way too many things wrong with america to list in anything less than a novel.

in my opinion, it's generally those kids that have never had to work for something in their life, their parents just give them what they want, and when confronted with something that requires work, such as getting a job to make money to buy the things they want, or passing school so that they can start a career and lead a functional life, they simply find a way around it (stealing and cheating). so i feel that the parents have a lot to do with it. of course, the kids are at fault as well, but they need to have learned that kind of behavior from somewhere.

You're pissed because kids steal from stores and cheat on tests...?

Stealing from a locally owned store is idiotic and wrong, no questions asked. Stealing from massive corporations who bathe in my hard-earned cash daily... fuck that, it doesn't phase me in the least to take from them. I need that money way more than they do. And you honestly never cheated? Never copied a friend's homework real quick before class, never peeked an answer? I mean I never cheat in classes I actually care about, but if I have to take some shitty math class for a requirement and it's never going to affect me other than the grade I get in it, why the hell not? I'll cheat all day. It's nothing new, it's not "kids these days", it's called working the system. Call me immoral, I'm plenty moral in all the areas that count. Stealing from multibillion dollar corporations and a little academic dishonesty really doesn't strike me as all that big a deal though...

Stealing from wal mart or target is still stealing. The victim may be more anonymous that stealing from someones home but it's still thievery. When people steal from places like that it might only be taking money out of some big corporations pocket but it gives them an excuse to raise prices on people who work for what they buy and then creates pains in the asses like items you need someone with a key all the way across the store to open.

I am a fucking agnostic but I have more morals than most of this "christian" nation.

Sorry for the double post, but I also don't think there are dumbasses doing better than you by cheating. There's dumbass kids not failing by cheating, for sure. And smart, lazy kids doing almost as well as you by cheating. But that's about it. And yeah, high school really doesn't matter except for the grades... honestly you're an idiot if you DON'T cheat in high school. College is a different story, I don't actually think I've cheated yet and don't really plan on it.

it's still stealing, regardless of how rich someone is you're stealing their shitfor an extreme example it's like killing someone. say you kill a 7 year old girl, bad, right? like stealing from the locally owned store. say you kill some gross pedophile, is that okay just because they're gross and weird? stealing is stealing, and this isn't some preachy mom talk, it's the way i feel, it's just dumb. as for cheating, i can't say i've never cheated, everyone's looked at someone else's paper or copied the answers out of the back of a math textbook

comes down to integrity, morals, and ethics asswhipe, and I'd say you

have little of any of those. It just seems that if you are willing to

compromise to the point of not giving a fuck in areas where the boundary is obvious then it just has a negative reflection on character overall, regardless if it really has a huge impact overall.

as for it in general, there just doesn't seem to be much accountability

and, as seen above, a severe lack in the importance (at least in my

mind) of morals and ethics and shit.

i would NEVER EVER steal anything, but i cheat all the time. i dont see a problem with cheating. the way i see it, if the teachers dont get me, i deserve the grades i get. im enrolled in the toughest classes in my grade and im ok with getting straight b's and cheating. but dont steal. not even from friends. i would never think of it. not even from big stores

Just because people steal here and there from big companies doesn't mean they don't work for their purchases. I mean I don't steal fucking iPods, I might steal a bottle of wine because I'm not old enough to buy alcohol, or some condoms because that shit should be free anyways. All the big purchases that mean something to me I work for. You're broadly stereotyping about something that doesn't really matter, prices are going to go up no matter what, and just because someone steals on occasion doesn't mean he's a spoiled little shit who gets everything from his parents.

I didn't say people who steal are spoiled shits, that was a comment from someone else. You should get someone else to buy you wine though because I want to be a wine maker when I'm done with school and I'm going to need people to buy it.

stealing is the same thing, you deserve the shit if you can steal it without getting caught.

i wouldt steal from people just big companies

"you deserve the shit if you can steal it without getting caught."

So even though you wouldn't steal from people would this statement still apply?

If you can counterfeit money and get away with it do you deserve it?

If you rape someone and they never tell do you deserve it?

I mean get real, my examples may have been extreme but just because you get away with something doesn't make it right.

whether or not you believe stealing in some form or another is OK, DO NOT EVER STEAL FROM ANOTHER PERSON. I just cannot understand how someone can think stealing from another young person is OK, I have such few possessions that if someone stole something valuable from me I'd be devastated.

3 of my friends each had something valuable stolen last year. a 360, 2 ipods, and a digital camera. I had my moped stolen. fuck anyone that does that.

cheating, i have to say i pretty much cheat my way through highschool. now when i do study for tests or pay attention, i get A's. but why do that when i can just not do shit, write down the formulas, answers, dates etc. and still get A's? fuck that.

stealing is a little iffy to me. one if you get caught it's not just an F on a test, or getting detention it's in trouble with the police. Although if i'm in wal-mart or something i'll take a bottle of pop and drink it while browsing for shit. i have stolen a few things, and after i felt kinda shitty about it...depends i guess on if i really need it and am low on cash...

by no means did i mean stealign was okay... i just meant it was the same at what he was referring to about cheating.

i don't think stealing/raping/making fake money is okay.

but i would love to make/get away with fake money hahaha

WORD! Thank god for someone else noticing this. 10/10. You don't steal no matter big store, local store, richest person in town, poorest person in town. It's wrong and fucked up. I don't steal anything from anyone, I never have and never will. My friends have stolen the Freeskier magazines from the local ski shop and I was just like, "what the fuck dude?" They're the ones who have helped you save 200 bucks on boots and 100 on bindings and you're taking their stuff? Plus, Freeskier is shit, it's not worth stealing. I must admit, I have cheated before though. Stealing is fucked up no matter what. Only time I ever stole was when I was 4 years old, I wanted like a two buck thing at an art store and my Mom wouldn't let me get it, so I took it and when we got in the car I pulled it out and started playing with it. Then she made me bring it right back in and appologize. I didn't know any better though. I had $100 snowboots in a $60 backpack at my resort and they were stolen. It sucked. From there on I knew to never ever steal and to prevent theft. I told myself if I ever met this theif I would knock him across the face so hard he'd fall right to the ground, I'd pick him up and drop his ass into the freezing cold river surrounding the resort. Sorry about my rant. I just don't want people stealing because it's a dick move.

yeah clearly peoples idea of right and wrong are changing, and it all depends on where someones raised and what the values theyre given at a young age are. my moms a school prinicpal and my dad is a lawyer so ive gotten lectures on both stealing and cheating, so its just been hammered into me to not do either.

i wouldnt look down on someone who does tho, i really couldnt care less what other people are doing as long as they arent stealing from me

My house was robbed last year. They took my step brothers wii and my my moms purse. I thought it might be an ex friend because he wasn't at school that day and would know where that stuff was, my neighbors who knew him were robbed the same day. That was pure speculation though so I couldn't accuse him. This summer someone broke into my grandmas house she rents to people by my hill. They stole my dead grandpas skis, some other skis, and a bunch of family things we had up there for storage right now. I really cannot stand people who steal because of those events.

Cheating on tests it okay. High school is bullshit, and they're only cheating themselves anyway. Stealing is lame though. I'd never do that shit.

Get off your moral high horse, that's such an ignorant statement. You don't know anything about me, but you know one thing that I happen to do on rare occasions because I'm poor as hell, from huge corporations that don't need the money, but that's enough for you to make a blanket statement about me as a person? Fuck you. Even if you want to label me as a thief, that's just one incomprehensibly small part of who I am, and at least I'm not a pretentious asshole like yourself. Who's shit now?

Tanner, sorry for attributing posts that weren't yours to you.

wow.

you're right i don't know shit about you. but you admitted that you steal things. and tried to justify it as you're "poor as fuck" and thus you're entitled to things you think you deserve. i think that you are wrong for stealing things and worse for feeling its okay. makes it sounds as if you will continue to steal.

when you done being supercool teenager, you'll learn the rest of the world operates on this strange exchange of cash/services for services/goods.

and planned parenthood hands out bags of free condoms.

in my book cheating in fine as long as the other person is cool with it, steeling on the other hand is retarted i work at the mall and ya it does not make a differnce money wise, but when my boss found some sensors last week in a pair of pants he tweeked on everyone working, and i got chewed out for not checking random pants pockets.

So dont steel cause i dont want to deel with that shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's cool, but I still disagree with you. Stealing something doesn't make thief your essence but it does compose a small part of you. Morals are something of relative nature so maybe you were taught to think that it is ok to take from certain people or places. To me even if I stole and no one ever found out it would matter to me. Stealing from chain stores may not appear serious and right now it is not but it's a slippery slope. If some people think its ok to take from wal mart they might think its ok to take from smaller businesses and it just keeps going. To me stealing is a pretty black and white issue, its either ok or not. The only exceptions to me would be to take back what is rightfully yours or for survival. Do you need condoms or wine from a chain store? Condoms are free at certain places and you can make your own wine for cheap. It's been proven that kids that commit petty crimes are more likely to commit more serious offenses of the same nature as adults so to me society should up its standards to prevent these problems in the first place.

you can put lipstick on a pig, but in the end its still a pig.

a person who steals is a person who steals. its a slippery slope, what constitutes a mega corporation? what makes them any less worthy of your money than your local gas grocery store? they offer a product, people buy that product, people who steal that product are thief's.

Why are corporations less deserving of my money...? You're ignoring a huge part of the argument. They're less deserving because my local stores hate Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart is the reason they're struggling. While my local store would actually feel consistent theft, Wal-Mart is off pulling billion dollar Black Fridays. A billion dollars. In a day. What an absurd amount of money. No one needs that much fucking money. This may make my point seem overly self-righteous, which is not the case, but realistically it could be seen as a just and necessary redistribution of wealth.

Shit costs so much fucking money, you work forty hours a week at any low-paying job in this country and you're earning what? $300-$400/week? Maybe? Rent costs me $650/month, food is $60/week and rising, obviously everyone here skis which is a big expense, if own a car you're not only spending indecent amounts on insurance and gas but you also can easily drop a paycheck or two on an untimely repair... and then you try to have a reasonable social life, that costs money, and all the while you're building up massive tuition debt. The sheer amount of shit we're expected to pay for on such a meager amount of money is disturbing, and as college students we're not anywhere near the lowest socioeconomic status. Local stores are having just as much trouble if not more, why would I steal from them?

So yeah, fuck nameless Wal-Mart exec A who can't buy his spoiled cunt daughter her eighth pony because of my petty theft. I'll take that Top Ramen, thank you.

ehhh dude i know some really dumb kids who are in some really good colleges because they cheated their asses of in highschool, every quiz, every test, every assignment without fail. i did terrible in highschool but cheating was never my thing at all and i didnt do well.

I guess I see your point, but if you rely on cheating that extensively through all of high school you're probably not going to last long at a university you didn't deserve to make it into anyways.

The funny thing is, their cheating will get them further in life than you. Sucks for you moral boy~

man im not a big fan of stealing either but i always steal drinks from my school staff and hotdogs and shit from intrawest, i just cant afford it living on my own away from home with their unbelievable increased prices. and cheating dont even get me started, i hate people that cheat but have you really never been super stuck on a question then just look over at the person beside you?

lets see here..........if everyone stole from wal-mart, then obviously wal-mart's profit margin would decrease. now who do you think will feel that first? the stereotypical fat cat executive? nope, he's gonna keep his share and order a round of layoffs and the stereotypical single working mother is gonna get cut.

whatever college you go to doesn't seem to be teaching you much about the real world.

couldnt have said it better myself.....

he obviously doesnt care about the rank and file worker at wally's world just barely struggling to get buy, much like he described.

so your argument is that companies should make conscious efforts to thwart expansion?
and your second argument is that some people don't make enough money so they should shop at local stores that charge more than.... say..... Walmart?
I guess you're just one of the hundreds of people on this site who fail to recognize that we live in a capitalist society.
