What is too wide for East Coast?

The trend is obviously moving towards fatter skis, regardless of terrain. Being an East Coast skier at 50/50 park, all-mountain, is a waist of 90mm too fat? I'm 6' 205lbs. 90mm seems like overkill with the lack of pow here, but people here seem to be ignoring that so they can fit in with the "fattest possible ski trend."
 
Im 6'1 210 and used to ski 92's (4frnt msp) and they were ok, youll def get used to em, but really not practical. They were nice when you got a little snow, but mostly id recommend something narrower. I ski 79's now and they are way way better for the east
 
Im an east coast skier and I ride a 98 waist (07 seths) and I love them. They rip pretty much everything. But I also have a pair of 04 scratch FS which are like 72 at the waist? something crazy like that.. so I have the best of both worlds... but either way... if your looking at something with a 90ish waist that would be fine for the east. I demoed mojo 90's a few times and they were amazing. great edge hold on the East ice and everything else. So theres nothing wrong with fat in the east
 
I know Mojo 90s would be super stable for landings, which is what I will primarily be using them for, but would they have any chance in the bumps, or any ski with a 90mm waist?
 
They work ok in moguls, but you have to work pretty hard. I mounted mine without lifters, but if you're planning on doing a lot of bumps you'll probably want some.
 
90 is fine at your size, the wider platform will be nice for jumps in and out of the park. You will still be able to carve hardpack as long as the ski is decently stiff (Mojo 90 should do). They won't be like race skis though. They will be ok in the bumps but you won't be doing zipperlines like a 60mm bump ski or something. RE: Above poster, not sure why you'd want risers in bumps? Risers will help you carve and lay them out more but reduce stability for jumping.
 
i was on bc's last season, which are 98 underfoot, and loved em. granted you feel the width at slower speeds...a little harder to get them on edge. but once you get em up to speed, theyre a lot of fun, not as quick as a more narrow ski, but the added surface area makes for a noticeably more stable ride, and going edge to edge is one of the coolest feelings in the world.
 
I ride 04/05 Pistols (95 waist) as my everyday ski. I have Publics too, but I pick up the Pistols over them anyday. They are great all mtn skis.
