What is the reason for white mittens?

Have seen a lot of people nowadays wearing white mittens/gloves. I feel like the mainstream market for white mittens market is aspen moms. I think a lot of people can rock them but sometimes they look a bit off. The only reasoning I can think of for white gloves would be for the judges in comps to see grabs better... Any reasons why??

I have the white Level 1 Wells Lamont mitts that my gf got me for Christmas. They happened to be white, wasn’t really a choice but they’re crispy and the mittens themselves are awesome. I also got a pair of the FT mitts in both colors. I like white a lot, my boots are white too even though they’ll get destroyed. Wells Lamont I think has seen a pretty good boost in popularity and they have the white mitts so I would guess that’s why you see white on a lot of park skiers hands. Hestra also has been making white mitts for quite a while. I think it’s a look thing, it goes really well with just about any color jacket/pants and we all know half of skiing is looking good (or at least thinking you do).

I've heard comp skiers often wear white gloves/mitts so the contrast on the black bases makes it easier for the judges to see that they got their grab.

i'm sorta split on white mittens. they get dirty, but look great when worn right. i have some spring burton mitts that are white. they look so fucking dirty but i still love them.

I just think that non-pros/comp dudes don’t wear them because they get so dirty

The color of your mitt isn’t going to effect how dirty they get.

White and black are the same, the only color for mitts that matters is those fat yellow oven mitts. Fat yellow oven mitt superiority

I think the real reason fir white mittens is if you drop one on a powder day you'll never find them and have to buy another
