What is the "new fad" in outerwear?

What's up guys! Its been a while (4 years?) since I have last bought outerwear, currently I have Armada pants, and wear a Bloom Jacket or Jibberish hoodie...

I am planning a ski trip here outwest, and need some new outerwear! I know that saga was on its way out when I last bought. TNF and Armada was pretty popular? What would you guys suggest to not look like a Flaming Gaper, I really do not want made fun of by highschoolers who have sick gear and can do sick box tricks.

I keep seeing ads for montec so u should get a full color matched kit from them. Stay away from flylow and trew cause they dont have the same level of ig clout.

no but in all seriousness the brands you have right now are still #core. Saga is still alive and still makes good shit too, I still support them. If you want to try out other brands check out Harlaut Apparel and Leathers (wearleathers.com) , and there's always Tall T Productions.

Armada stuff has been cool but this year their outerwear is kind of meh.

686 makes some dope stuff, along with trew and flylow (idk what the guy above was talking about)

Lots of park kids are rocking baggy parachutey pants with short nerdy jackets and hoodies. Track pants are pretty much out but wacky sweaters and fleece still seem to be cool.

In places that get more snow and have a bit more of a “ride the mountain like it’s your park” scene you're seeing lots of tech fabric in bibs and taller jackets.

Unlike the dude above I’m pumped on Armada’s more toned down outerwear options this year and actually just picked up a shell.

And Trew and Flylow definitely get cred. Especially for their bibs. Baggy enough, tough fabric, waterproof etc. They hold up to lots of hard skiing.

Montec seems more like a poser instagram brand but hey, whatever floats your boat. Sounds like the quality isn’t half bad.
 
Just got Flylow Bibs and Shell and they are dope..

Girlfriend picked up a Montec jacket because she liked the colours and it is actually made extremely well..
 
You might try perusing newschoolers for some used gear. Or even sort the evo black Friday sale by price and get something you like thats on clearance
 
bro straight up if you're concerned that much about your kit you're doing it wrong. I get wanting to feel comfortable in your gear, but don't get all hot and bothered about Chad McAlta's opinion of you. Wear wack shit if you want, wear functional shit if you want, or make a combination of the two, your choice ball! Also, there is noooo need to buy brand new, get that shit on b/s/t or craigslist or facebook marketplace or on sale... save ya some money!

Hell by all accounts I'd say Armada pants, Bloom jacket, and Jiberish hoodie will do ya just fine. That's damn near the kit i've been rocking for about 4-5 years now, no signs of stopping
 
this man is just in time as that cycle seems to be rolling around again, saga pants are the norm and bloom is def making a comeback so you'll be looking core af, just make sure you bark and flash the wu tang hands after every trick tho
 
right now its trendy asf to have baggy grey/black snowpants (bonus trend points if theyre sewn by some random dude in his moms garage) and a thrifted tech shell (arcteryx, marmot, north face etc..) dont forget the jetskis too
