What is the most overrated ski resort?

And why is it alta? Horrendous lift lines, over rated terrain, stupid traffic, asshole washed up ski bums, dumb no snowboarders policy, whenever it snows the weather is always super windy and zero visibility. Just awful all around.
 
For me it’s got to be breck or vail I live in wny and every kid here goes to those 2 mtns on vacation and all love it, seems kinda lame to me both get crazy busy and have some lame terrain in comparison to other places. Not to mention vails 203 or 213$ fucking lift ticket I’d rather get ran over by a gaper and be taken out for the season then pay that to ride some flat bowls and shitty parks

I agree with alot of what you're saying here, except over rated terrain. Alta is a dummy fun place to ski

any vail resort is overrated. Skied at heavenly for several years and just about the most tourist-oriented and large resort ive seen.

was fun for a while but got boring.

Kirkwood is completely fire though even though its run by vail

Yeah I feel like I've never had a postive experience there compared to other mountains in the area. Even though I was looking at living there I feel like whistler is just not it rn. Yes is has some dope terrain and what not but still leaves a lot to be desired
 
Vail owned resorts, except like kirkwood which is the least vaily vail owned resort. Breck and vail are for some reason thought of as these awesome destination places when in reality they are no more fun than copper and WAY more inconvieient for anyone who lives nearby.

the most underrated ski resort is bogus basin.
 
Hell yeah the mood at bogus is so positive and their terrain can get really fun. They are cheap and non profit so lots of expansion and stuff. Sun valley... yuck. I've lived and skied here for 12 years and have and will never hit sun valley.

When I did my cottonwoods trip a couple years ago, alta was the least busy of the 4 resorts I visited. It started nuking at lunch time, so all of the locals already left. Free refills for 3 hours with no lift lines... Heaven. If only it didn't take us 4 hours to get down the canyon because of rental cars without all wheel drive.

My spicy take is that pc is actually pretty lit. Park is always going off. Upper mountain has some ski terrain that is often under skiied. It's big af so lift lines aren't bad. Love skiing some groomers in the canyons at mach 8. Traffic is way better than the cottonwoods resorts.

You seriously think Alta is the most overrated ski resort? The no-boarders thing is fucking stupid, but if you think the terrain is "overrated", you clearly just aren't good enough to ski it.

I've never been blown away, just was pretty meh.
 
It's the Alta scenesters who are just there for Alta Bombs on the patio and don't even know how to find chad's gap. They're the ones ruining it for the rest of us.

kirkwood is mad fun so is sugarbowl but i agree heavenly and even northstar are boring and busy as shit

Spilled my alta bomb all over myself and lost an air pod by landing in a tree during a cork 7 under wildcat for a hot alta bunny on the lift. 0/10
 
Gonna say any popular resort: vail, aspen, Breckenridge, park city, etc. So annoying how many people only travel to places like that. Anytime I'm on a plane... "you ski Breckenridge? No? Oh park city then? No vail?"... Bruh explore a little. Ffs

And also the ski road to any resort in the cottonwoods. Fugging roads are so flat, bro you don't need 4wd/awd or snow tires to get up those. Just common sense know how to drive in the snow and not rwd. They're the easiest resorts to drive to other than Steamboat which literally is in the town. So flat. Fight me Mormons; I'll win. Anyone who says otherwise is a noob.
 
Sugar bowl is legitimately so sick. Heavenly sucks. It’s one big traverse and it’s expensive. The views are really nice though.

Northstar is just fun for hitting park or getting drunk and hitting groomers on a weekday

I’m going to say breck because the lines and crowds are mind blowing and frustrating. I used to love breck when I was younger. Now it’s just too much.
 
Breck was worse than Vail IMO when it comes to shitty lines and shitty snow. Glad the homie fucked himself up and gave me his epic pass so I could ski some shitty resorts
 
Mt. Baker is so overrated. It always rains, always icy. Just a complete fucking disaster 100% of the time. Also the drive sucks and you’ll probably get stuck. I hear snoqualmie pass is good though!
 
Being from South Carolina, calling anywhere Dyrtle (“dirty Myrtle”) is a pretty damn strong statement. I would be more inclined to give heavenly the dyrtle title
