Everything we see now on rails is spinning spinning and spinning...I think that we should improve the more technical ways of sliding such as fast slide backslide and presses and especially bring these to urban rails....park rails sucks and they are far less technical than urban jibs...At least if we bring 270s in on a down of 25 stairs I think the sport will have largely have more evolved with that trick than with a 1260 disaster on a park rail...There is a lot of aspect of jibbing that are not exploited much in skiing and the technical aspect of urban rails is one that is totally negliged...

Park rails are really secondary...Urban rails need way more technical skills...

Stop doing urban jumps outside of the stair set (ex Simon dumont in X)...It really sucks...It proves that you fear the stairs and that you can't do it in lip slide...

Oh yeah, I forgot, people aren't getting tech on urban rails at all. Like Tanner's switch butter 270 on.

you will see but nose sliding and tailsliding double kinks to 270's out... it was so hot in snowboarding this year and skiing will pick it up in a year or two

I think if you cared enough, instead of telling everyone on this site what needs to happen, you would have gone out started doing the tricks that you think need to happen, Get your name in Magazines, then videos and then started spreading that shit through videos, rather that some lame computer screen.

I'm sorry to say but 95% of nose press type things on rails that I've seen so soo fucking bad. People bent over straight legged at the waist with their ass sticking way out = not very natural looking. I think one footers look pretty cheese ball too. Oh did I mention I think grabbing your ski on a rail looks stupid as well?

1 foots are soo sick. i dont know about the whole no jump idea...sure you can get it down to really low which is cool cause then you dont need so much snow. but then thing about it, if you are hitting a flat rail there is no way you can jump that high unles you are olympic style. plus it just wouldnt look as good because when you jump itd be so ugly looking

half the shit that we can copy from snowboarders have been doned by Will Brown, nollies, 5-0s (on boxes, of course), even he did that 180 to nosepress thing on a box

about not having a jump onto urban, really depeneds on the rail, plus snowboarders can ollie a shit load more than us skiers can, so the small jumps don;t work too well unless you have fucking dope ollie skills

pretty much just more intense presses and spinning onto presses, switching up with presses...i just love them presses

Oh I got this new grind, it goes like this:

Look for a nice down rail in the park or urban if you are feeling hardcore. Do a 180, cross your skis like doing a blunt, with both hands hold the opposite end of each pole, then land in the cross of your skis, and slide on your two horizontal poles. Then come off 180.

Super technical and risky to try!

rails will continue to progress in many ways, mostly urban, because no one besides maybe tanner (butter) and CR (weak nosepress) have done anything beside regular and unnatural on a handrail, park rails will get crazier, urban rails will get crazier and spinning will be a must on and off of mostly everything, basically we will continue to copy snowboarding with presses, butters, and amller ramps onto rails

fast slides, back slide, royales, etc. are mad gay, if that is the direction skiing is going in its not good cause there is no way that can look stylie or good in any way, it might be tech, but damn it looks stupid, if we should look to nayone for guidence on jibs it should be snowboarders not fruit booters

anyway. urban rails are way more high consequence than rails in the park. so its not as simple as spins being thrown on them for the sake of progression. the right conditions will still be needed

 
I think people need to make more technical rails like you slide an up rail gap 20 ft and land on a diff rail. also I think It would be hot if you made A rail that curved like a quarter pipe rail so you slide it with speed get air and trick then land back on the rail. Its never been done but crazy cool stuff like that is where the future is. Im gonna set up a homemade rail system at a huge hill near my house its gonna be an 2 inch wide pvc up rail gap to flat 3 inch wide pvc rail 10 ft drop to a really down slanted 12 ft long box. I'll get a vid up if I ever actually go through with it.

dfresh is right. when skiers can tailpress on dub kinks to 270 out, we will be at the level of snowboarders. and backslides and fastslides a la charles gagnier/iannick b. are super progressive and dope...and natural. our skis are separate, and we can do many combinations of tricks because of that on rails, so why not.

why don't they make more of those soul plates like Line used to make for skiboarding? I think that might work decent on skis. only thing is finding a good mounting point might be a little tough.
