I was wondering if salomon will ever get a new ski, and if the ski that candide uses is a prototype, or just that pipe ski thing? I mean they have had the 1080 since the very beginning of newschool and they still haven't changed it.

word has it that all 04-05 Salomon Skis will have that Black Base on all the skis. Right now its just for the riders.

they came out with the new ak rockets(scream) for 04. and Kina Pickett told me at empire that salomon were going to make alot of changes for the 04-05 line

salomon makes so much money of all there other sports in addition to there ski sales..salomon makes swell skis and the innovate there line every year they just don't change they name of the skis...if dynaster kept calling their line the concepts would u still be bitching?

what are you bitching about, how they dont change the NAME of there ski every year?!? whoopdy freakin da, the name is the same, yet from my recollection the ski has changed atleast 5 times now.

 
Yeah, I agree that they make rad skis. But I hear what this kid's talking about...just not necessarily in the same way. I think Salomon should introduce a bit more variety. I know they have the 1080 and the 720...but I'd like to see another model or two. Solely directed at freestyle, terrain park oriented riding. I know the company isn't based completely in the freestyle market, but look at Line and the variety of skis they have. It makes for more options...LATE

i think it is time to change the ski, i know it is sick but it isn't groung brakingly new or anything like the armadas, k2's and dynastars new stuff seems like. i mean why don't they try something new and design a new line of skis, still having the teneighty just have different ski. To me it doesn't make sense to have pretty much the same ski for four or whatever years now. I'm also asking this question because it seems only right that salomon comes out with a highly anticipated brand new ski because all the other ski companies are stepping it up. so jus chill we don't need haters

 
spaceframe changed the ski pretty much. I think that salomon should concentrate on stuff that actually makes skiing easier and more fun. They could make the skis lighter or balance the skis different to make them easier to spin. Even something stupid and gimmicky. Just for fun. Thats what skiings about anyway.

i dont know where you are, may be in ur country skis are released 2 years later than here in canada, but the 1080 is not like 2 years ago at all, its a really new ski....totally diferent...you will prolly see it in store in one year or 2...

Geezus, that 'Weezable' kid just doesn't get this shit does he? THE 1080 HASN'T STAYED THE SAME FOR FOUR YEARS. It's an entirely new ski from what it was four years ago or even two. The ski is here to stay...it's a bad-ass ski. Adding a model or two would just provide more variety for those of us who are loyal to the brand or want to ride something from Salomon other than the 1080...LATE

well i'm not to fond of the ski and of course its changed but these changes were pretty minor compared to the changes of some other ski companies. and if i was in charge i would think it would be time to try something completely new and different instead of just having an OK ski, and it is only OK because when people on this forum ask which ski they should buy everyone tells them that the pe's and tm's are hot shit, but nobody says to much aboout the 1080's, i've never really herd that the 1080's are incredible and the best ski out there.i think they should just try some really new like technology or something really groundbraking. Or they could just keep the same ski...jus chill everybody we don't need no haters

last i checked they have the number 1 selling ski on the market.......why would they change anything too much?? They keep coming out with ways to make thier skis beatter every year. Sure, they could change the 1080's name just like every other company does, instead they stick with what everyone knows.

 
the past years 1080's were horrible, they were ill for like the first month

then they just turn to noodles, they have to do something ablout that cause the ski is useless after 1 season

why is that gay, is having the same ski for a rich boy like yourself sickening? do you need to buy new equipment every year to stay in with the 'hip' crowd? why fuck with such a great thing? the 1080 sells the pants off any other twin out there, i know for a fact that you can put any one from a jibber to my grandpa on that ski and they will have a fun time on it. so why mess with a great selling ski?!?

 
no cause pretty much every ski shop including sport checks carries the 1080s.

personally, i rode 1080's once and fuckin hated em. but yah, salomon does have some variety...the 1080 and hte pocket rocket...they dont even make the 720's anymore do they?

i had 1080's but didnt' like em they were just the only twin tip i could get, and i really dont like the spaceframe ones, I also agree somewhat with the fact that the majority of kids who don't know what there doin just buy the 1080, im not sayin good people dont ride it, but there are tons of grenn 1080's where i ski and maybe 2 of the kids are decent
