What is the best way to hide long hair?

for my job, i can wear a baseball cap, but my hair has to be shorter than my ears. has anyone found a way to keep their long hair even though their job says that it needs to be short? i don't think i can have a pony tail but i'll have to double check with that. seems like there's gotta be something that can hold hair really tightly but so far i've had no luck finding anything... in my head i'm picturing something like a shower cap with an elastic band, only you can pull a string that shrinks the cap and pulls the hair all together...anything like that or anyone have any other suggestions?
 
you can cut it, i hear that works...but depending on the job, you should be able to just wear a hat or something.
 
if there's a sign that says long haired freaky people need not apply, then put your hair up in your hat, and go in to ask them why. When they say you look like fine upstanding young man, take of your hat and say "imagine that, me working for you"
 
whats the job?

hair is like a peice of you, your pride, joy and dignity.I would leave the job if its not worth it
 
yeah i say just cut it. not as far as a buzz cut, but short. it feels so much better, i got a 3/4" haircut from about mid neck length and i'm never going back
