What is the best times to go to hood during the summer?

I was recently watching the newest capeesh vid and saw it seemed so empty, what days are best to go to hood on? Saturdays? This upcoming summer I was planning a 3 day trip and was thinking Thursday, Friday and Saturday but I've never been so I have no idea when it's the least populated. Would probably be around late June, early july ish when the FTC park opens up.

Me personally having more people there seems like a better experience cause there’s just more stuff going on. I hate an empty park, just seems so lifeless to me. If having less people there is your jam then prolly weekdays in the late summer is best but I haven’t been there so don’t take my word for it

Later in the week is def better. They set the rails low so they melt out as the week goes. All the campers leave in Friday I think so Saturdays are usually the most empty. It can get pretty hectic with all the kids so def try a go later in the week

Monday - Friday is always going to be packed with camps during the summer, Saturday is definitely the day with all the camps not running on the weekends. On sunday they do a rebuild for the parks so probably not the day. If you're planning a 3 day I'd say Thursday, Friday, Saturday is best bet. Also, the later in the day you stay the less packed it gets, but the tows also close at 3 so you have to find the sweet spot. A lot of their clips were filmed in the pro park and lower zone, those areas are also way less packed tbh.

Depends on snowfall. Generally June 20-July 20 is the best window, but there’s great fun pretty much every year well into August. Saturdays are the most empty as said above, no camps on the weekend. This year the superpipe was open to the public for 5 days after all the $$$ spending teams stopped training, around July 15, but it’s hard to predict that window, too.

Weekdays are super crowded with campers. Racers cover basically the whole mountain until noonish, and park camps make the ftc lines pretty brutal. FTC is closed on sundays for rebuild, then monday the rails will be basically underground and will progressively melt out as the week goes on. Saturdays are sick cause camps are gone, rails are tall, and the lines are relatively non existent.

Mid-late june is nice cause you can still lap the magic mile lift, so if the ftc is crowded you can go lap public park and not wait in line.

June 21st (sometimes the 20th) is the summer solstice and theres a big party up at illumination rock. Best day of the summer imo. Weather can be iffy up there early summer but its usually dry after July 4th

August is a sleeper month. Most people are gone at this point besides locals or die hards. Parks were still super fun this year and the rock jibs are firing. Smashing chunder balls is also a highlight. The true ldoh is always a good time too

Sunday park is closed, Monday/Tuesday rails are uh-trickably low, the other days are good for rails and I usually will just hit jumps or pipe the other two days. One of the tows is usually pretty empty, but not always the same one, just depends on the campers that week and what they want to ride it seems like.

For time of year, later is less people, but less snow, but after week 4 it seemed like there was a pretty big decline in kids this year, and it was never really crowded after that.

thanks man, I've heard that it's not great when kids get there.

I see, are there still a lot of features around week 4 would you say?

I’d say mid June to late July is prime time. Still a lot of snow with slightly warmer temps. But still not in heavy slush territory yet and you don’t have to hike to the lift.

It’s been years, so I might be off here. Camps were generally up on Palmer. So you could lap the park at a good clip. Maybe there’s a bit of a line in the morning or after lunch getting campers up there. But for the most part the mile doesn’t really get too backed up? Or I’m lying. Idk.

There were a lot of features on closing day, they just get less creative the last 2 weeks or so due to lack of snow to dig in crazy combos(not that timberline really does that much anymore).
