What is the best Part of Skiing to You?

I was watching some old clips and movies, and I loved seeing and hearing the reaction of everyone towards their buddies stomping new or sick tricks. It dawned on me that there really is nothing better than a fist bump or half hug after trying a new trick and finally nailing it. What are everyone's thoughts?

I think the best part of skiing has been the feeling of freedom that it gives me. I was always a kid who wanted to jump off of stuff. Skating, biking, scootering, I was into it all. Moving to Colorado was the first time where I could really get the thrill that I always pursued as a young kid. There were so many thrilling aspects to it; I could bomb runs, hit jumps, slide rails, drop cliffs. It was also the first thing that I felt that I was really good at. I get just excited about it today as I did 10 years ago when I started.

Being out there with friends being stoked about pretty much everything

I remember skiing just 40 meters of knee-deep pow. Not a whole lot, but it was the first of the season and that shit is the best! Just being in the trees with the buddies yelling and being just as stoked about the each other's skiing as our own...

As much as I love doing bigger tricks nothing beats a sunny warm day with your friends just hot lapping and doing sweet, stylish tricks, blasting knowles..... Jk taking your boots off and scratching your legs .....aaahhhhhh

flying through the woods. favorite thing is skiing a line through the trees that feels like it was meant to be there

Overcast, wake up, fresh snow, roads are dead but you drive to the mountain, snow pants on, slipping around in the skate shoes on the ice of the parking lot, getting sweaty inside putting everything on, walking outside and walking up to the lift, its dead quiet, just you and a few buddies, the lifts know u and don't even ask about tickets because u got that pass. You and ur buddies are the only ones on the lift, yelling to each other, being obnoxious. You get to the top, you find the right song, ski the shit out of the mountain and then repeat.

sharing deeeeeep pow turns with homies and grinning/laughing like a bunch of mad scientists at the bottom of the run afterwards.

also chicks. gotta love the chicks, maaaaaaaaaaaaahn.

Straight lining pow is hard to beat, also I like cliff hucks in the trees, or not in the trees. Also kind of like it when your at the top of a line and you straight up scared.. pond skimming is mad fun too. Huge 60 mph groomer roller air. Park laps.... shit everything I guess

My favorite thing ever is night skiing when the mountain clears out around 8PM. I love how quiet it gets, just the sound of the chairlift running and the occasional sound of a skier below me when i'm on the lift. Just forgetting about all of the homework and all of the stuff that I have to do at school the next day. I think its the best feeling in life.

And Granite peak has the best lodge ever by the way. I think it is the oldest chalet in the country. Love sitting around the fire in the basement with hot chocolate, sometimes even do school work there.

progressing, watching old edits and seeing how far I've come is pretty cool.

for me? triple posts!

At first, it was being with my friends at the ski center. They were guys I didn't got to school with and we just loved the camaraderie of being one step ahead of the pack. They were there when you nailed that trick to when you knocked yourself out on a crash. There is a deeper bond we share; and that bond is universal.

Then, it was more about "just being out there". Now that the mountains are accessible and scenic views are everywhere, I just love being there with nothing to do and no time limit. There is a deeper sense of connection with your surroundings in a peaceful manner...its like being in heaven

Slaying a pow line so got damn perfect that your girl lets you hit the backdoor later that night.
