what is so bad about armadas

i don't own them but from all the threads i could tell you the edges have a nasty habit of ripping and they de-lam super easy.

i have them.......they're fine..only problem is umm.....just the little iddy biddy egdes on the tails get ripped out but it doesn't even matter...they're a good ski

Armadas are sick! the only thing that was happening to them this year was the little aluminium tail peice was falling off, and the top sheets chip like mad. But non of this affected the performance of the ski. Next years line up, the t.halls, ar5,arv, and jp/julien pro...are a little more rugged and they have a bevel on the top sheet so they dont chip at all, and it seems work pretty well. riding next years ar5 hard and it doesnt chip them at all compared to this years which chips bad in like one run. The next years ar5's are also way stiffer than this year, the t.hall is more like this years ar5....really noodly.

they also had some mad delam problems.. but i think that got fixed somewhat, who knows.. although mine did delam. anyway, mine skied freakin awesome, although its only midwest skiing for me, but i did like em a lot.. the topsheet chips like crap (as the dude above me said) and the thingers on my tails fell off, too... i duno.. maybe they're worth the money.. personally, i didnt htink so.

I like to ski.

uuh i think they would suck for all mountain because there so flexy

my friend has them and the edges are all ripped off. they're far from being as good skis as everyone expected.

Over time, most people experience life involving love, suffering, compassion and an unspeakable drive for something new...For me there's skiing, nothing more nothing less and it encompasses everything, everyday I'm out there.

everyone i know who has the ar5's hates them.. but the ARV's are sick

East Coast, yay. (Unfortunately the west is better)

I have a 96 VW, with more problems then Iraq. -west

Everyone, even the people who like the skis all have had the same problem with edges coming off and the topsheets chipping without even taking a full run. Now if you see a pattern here tell me, but if I were to spend my hard earned money on a new pair of skis that I'd want to use for more than one season I'd get me something that'd last for more than a day before having to return them or take them into the shop. Maybe they can make a turnaround next year, but they better make it good.

NOTHIN is wrong with armada they are the best

alright this should answer your question. i bought ar5's in november. after about 2 months (super hard skiing, like urban rail etc.) the inside edge of my right ski ripped out (only about 3 inches) then about 3 weeks ago i overshot a 50 footer and snapped my ski. now at this point i was pretty pissed off, so i brought them back to the ski shop that i bought them at, and armada is warrantying them right now. but the best part of the whole warranty thing is that it takes about half as long as the big companys take to get the stuff back to you, plus tyson hall is super cool and will keep you updated on when your stuff will get to you. so there are ups and downs, but i know i loved the skis when i had them, so i'll keep skiing them until armada won't warrany them any more. (im also going to buy next years arv's)

I didnt go to college and check me out im kick ass

They're sweet. The tips are getting pretty scratched up but so are my buddies 4frnts and my other buddies TM's. If you rally the shit out of any ski they are gonna have problems. I love the Armada's

What's next for you?

I think Armada will eveolve into an excellent company. As described above, they care about there customers, but they are new so they are learning. About 3-4 years from now I'll bet Armada has there skis down pat. The problem is trying to keep the compnay funded until then.

i think theyre way too overpriced for a crappy ski...

maybe everyone shouldnt have jumped on the bandwaghon so soon and waited till they straightened their shit out

Armada pulled off in there 1st year, two sick types of ski. Performance - there have been few complaints. Year 2 they have two new protos... they have sorted the endurance problems with new designs and they got the baddest looking skis on the market... lay off and give them a chance.. isn't this the company we have all been waiting for? I don't see anyone else doing it the armada way

what are you guys talking about noodles? They are the stiffest ski I've ridden. sickest ski too.

I hear the quality of their skis next year's gonna be awesome, even better than the rossi scratchs. I think they're getting made somwhere else.

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

yea the top sheets like dont chip at all either ive ridden on the 04/05 ar5's hard and they dont chip at all...compared to my 03/04 ar5's which chip like mad in one run

i got the ar7 the prototypes previously owned by julien and they r a sick ski man. u gotta b on em to ski them well, but i find they do de lam a lil easy but wot the fuck, they r julien's prototype and cost me $280. kaching!

There comes a time in life when one must risk something or sit forever with one's dreams.

i have teh ar5 and i love it. it is the best ski i have ever ridin. the top sheet does chip a lil easy but that don matter cuz it doesnt do shit to the performance so who cares

i have skiied them through the park, never got to ski them elsewhere, but i hated them. i am pretty light, so to me they seemed stiff, but didnt really have any pop to them, like the PE's are just as stiff, but have a lot of pop

well basically they are a ski that rich people buy because they want to be trendy and they think that they are cool, but fact of the matter is that they are poor quality and i hate you all

they may work fine but the durability is shit....they are not at all what they're hyped up to be

a ski for rich people? im super poor and i got mine for like 300 buck. and not because they are 'trendy' but because i demoed every other worth-while ski this year and the ar5 (in my mind) out performed them all.
