What is skiing to you?

I know that for me skiing is the one thing that allows me to be free from stress and the rush of everyday life. i define skiing as doing anything on two pieces of planks on your feet, and when i have these planks under my feet, in any circumstance, i am filled with joy.

thats what skiing is for me, but what does it mean for you? i am curious...

This or when you look at a feature all day thinking your gonna eat shit and then make it clean. Also first snow of the season and when your resort starts snowmaking gives me the best feeling ever. Nothing like waking up for the first day of skiing.

Hungover morning, driving, gatorade and coffee. climbing mountains blasting tunes.

just let loose up on the mountain. go hard or go home. always leaving happy. as soon as that frozen wind hits your face at the top of the peak it's like renewing your life. face shots just wipe all the cares away.

honestly if i got aids and skied 2 feet of pow on the same day, i'd say its a good day. maybe not in the long run but that day was good. it's my life.

now thats all i have to say about that.

A positive obsession. It makes me who I am as a person, its a true lifestyle and passion. Its all I think about when I'm sitting in class and basically all the time. When I'm skiing my mind is at ease.

it just relieves stress and make you kinda feel free to do whatever you want. Like flying though trees, hitting the moguls, or in the park its all your choice and no one can stop you

skiing to me,

is the pinnacle of fun

adrenaline

excitement

testing your personal boundaries

showing off

learning new things

balance

a challenge

always changing

never gets old

fast

progression

pain

achievement

satisfaction

takes the mind off any worries until the session is over

its more of a serious addiction to me. going skiing instead of doing shit that i need to get done in the real world. i feel like a drug addict without the drugs. escaping reality with skiing...if i have a problem i dont solve it i just go skiing and forget about it that day. im about to live in a van and spend every penny i have to get a pass to hood just to shred in the summer, throw away everything i have here all for the progression.

Skiing to me is the most important thing to me. It is the reason i drag myself to school everyday, because i know that each day i do this its one day closer to the weekend. It is the most relaxing, most fun thing in my life. If i am having the most shitty week ever, I can just ski all of the stress and problems away. Tearing my acl was probably the most devistating thing that could happen to me because skiing is just my life. inb4 assholes who say you must have such a hard life.

let me put it this way;

there is absolutely no feeling in this world that is as amazing as floating through waist deep pow in a massive, open bowl, while being with your best friends.

Pretty much what keeps me going through the day, through school and through the 2 hour bus ride to and from the hill. Can't find any one word to describe it but the best days of my life and days to come are on the mountain just shredding with friends, no worries, no stress just taking in the fresh mountain air and enjoying life. Never really experienced anything quite like an empty pow run after an hour hike on a crystal clear morning.

the most badass shit ever

you get to ride around all day pushing snow like a baller ass nig who will probably become a rapper cause all them nikkkkas ain't musicians.

they drug dealers

fuck a bitch

ski a line

blow a line

eat some shrooms

go swimming

fuck a hoodrat

float out some cork sevens

teach your bz how to cork seven

now your bz's a pro skier. swag

we mothafuckin animals

Skiing is just where you get away from it all. It doesn't matter what i'm doing. carving, powder, moguls, park, rails, cliffs, you name it. everything melts away when you go to the mountains.

Life. best sport ever and a way to go out and just enjoy yourself without having to worry about other shit that is going on.

When I was younger, it felt like LIFE, but as I got older I felt like contributing to society more (don't get your panties in a bunch over this statement), and skiing has now become a side-addiction. I'm joining the Canadian Army now, bye bye skiing! /claim

For me skiing is an obsession that I cant get of my mind. All I really think about during the school week is shredding keystone and what new trick I am going to try!
