What is rent like in Salt Lake?

It really depends on the house and location but you'll prob be paying 300-400 each a month on most houses.

i have been looking for houses in sugarhouse starting july first for school next year and we just found a 4 bedroom house for $1450 per month + utilities. That seems to be about the average but you can find cheaper if you look and aren't too specific about where you have to live

what everyone has said about rent is pretty true, but i will give you a tip. do a lot of research on a place before you decide to live there.

my roomate and i rushed our decision, and ended up being stuck in a 12 mth lease in the ghetto. it fucking sucks. and to break the lease it is equal to 4 months rent for the lease break fee plus you have to give 60 days notice, so basically you have to have 6 months rent up front just to break it.

yah maybe you should read the paper before you sign it next time.

depends on where you look. anywhere from 250-500 a month I would say. best bet to find legit places is calling property managment companies. they usually don't advertise becuase the sick places always have people to fill them.

by the time i got to look at the lease, i was in salt lake city at the end of a 23 hour drive. i thought he had before we moved, but apparently not.

it's not the length of the lease that is the problem, it's the neighborhood. multiple shootings, stabbings, and gang fights on the property, and the mavericks down the block gets robbed all the time. the smiths on the other end of the street just got robbed yesterday aparently.
