ive never been out to salt lake city before and i was thinking about applying to some colleges. does anyone know what the scene is like there? my friends say its run by Mormons and they take all the fun away... is this true? is it really straight edge?

It's not really that bad. We just have to do state mandated prayer every morning and wear church-issued clothes any time we go out in public. You get used to not having any bars pretty quick, since after your fourth kid you don't have time for drinking anyways. I don't know why everyone comes here to ski, since it never really snows- it is a desert after all. It's pretty cool though.

Pros:

Salt Lake is within an hours drive to a handful of resorts:

-Powder Mountain

-Snowbasin

-Wolf Mountain

-Park City

-Deer Valley

-Canyons

-Alta

-Brighton

-Solitude

-Snowbird

Snogression in South Salt Lake is the ultimate summer training ground. You also have UOP in Park City which has water ramps

-relatively cheap rent compared to other ski towns

-great urban (see 4bi9)

Cons:

-Mormons run the world

-liquor stores closed on Sunday

-no alcohol at grocery stores

Overall, I'd say the benefits outweigh the burdens on this one. When you first move in the missionaries will harass you with niceness, but it will pass. Messing with missionaries can be hilarious.

Go for it.

It is terrible. You will have no fun, your life will suck. You will also never kiss another girl again if you move to Utah.

The skiing here is also atrocious, most of the shots of you see in movies that claim Utah were actually shot in Wyoming or Colorado. It is a little known industry secret pushed forward by the state government.

Look closely in the recent First Drop edit, you'll see famous supposed Utah spots like the Marc Andre cliffs are in Colorado.

Don't come to SLC. Colorado pays a high premium for our snow so we end up shipping 60% of our annual snowfall to the CO resorts.

This is pretty spot on. We do live a virtuous life though, and you will be satisfied knowing you lead a path of righteousness.

i went to park city and others (?) in salt lake city, best time ive ever went. dont listen to these chads idiots they keep saying colorado is the best it isnt we have many deaths per year.
