What is league of legends?

Its a fun game that is the same but different every time you play. Riot, the people who make the game, do a very good job of updating it and balancing the game.

And its free.
 
IMO, its like a toned-down WoW. My roommate is always playing it and it pisses me off. He wastes so much time everyday playing because each game takes forever to finish and you can't exit or you lose a bunch of points.. or whatever.

Not something I want to get into.
 
I used to not want to leave because you get noted as a "leaver" and can get banned blah blah... But not I dont care anymore and if I have to go anywhere I just DC my internet and it looks like I DC'd not left. Problem solved.
 
That or I tell the people my wife's water just broke and we need to surrender so I can go to the hospital and become a father... Or I start talking about how bad a storm is outside and then DC. Or say something like a robber is in my house and I need to go shoot him. Just get creative and usually your team surrenders.

Wife's water breaking is the most effective.
 
Its not like WoW at all. WoW = MMORPG whereas LoL = MOBA

I pretty much play this game all the time. (With some fellow NSers quite a bit) Riot does a great job at keeping things balanced and its better than DOTA 2 imo and HoN.

friends tried to make me play this game, but i'm not playing any MMORPG/MMO/ Games like this anymore, makes me a slaaack person
 
So you didn't even play the game? (The tutorial and bot games don't count)

You have to at least give it a chance.

I play it every day, I'm about 1500 elo (your rating).

I think it's the best game I've ever played. It's really deep, very strategic, but still fairly easy to learn. It's a MOBA game, like Dota2. It takes a while to get into it, but once you start getting into it, you never get tired of it. The game is constantly changing, new champions are released, there are pathces and so on. There is also a pro scene there. Many pro teams that are making a living off of livestreams, tournaments and guides. There are North American seasonal championships going on right now.

Sorry for the long post dude, but the game is so good, prefer it over any fps game, which just gets boring after a while, also think it's better than sc2 and dota2.
 
So much this!

By lvl 10ish id say that you know most of the moves and abliities of 70+ champs. By lvl 20, you should know the counters to almost all champs. Its crazy how much diversity there is in this game and at the same time, its very balanced.

Just got done playing with Dragonite and BeezKneez. Raped first game, 2nd game, the support kept ksing hardcore and stealing the ADC and APC's gold.
 
You gotta get used to it. It's a challenging game and if it't the first time you play this type of strategy game it's difficult. you just gotta give it a chance. LITTLE.BEACH FOR LEAGUE 2012
 
Prolly rushed a bit too much. LoL is all about timing and knowing exactly when the right opportunity is for a gank/kill. Map awareness/wards/team communication (calling mias, pinging, etc) are all part of this.

PS. Buy a ward, save a life!

I just started playing again this weekend, but sadly all my friends quit. Now I have to play with random scrubs. Rather than having a 5-man premade.
