What is it about snow?

About 45 minutes ago, my school finally got the first snowfall of the season, here in Western Mass.

And of course, being a skier I'm pumped. I haven't skied since last january when a nasty double eject/soccer put me out for the reason. So the return of winter has been long anticipated by me. I know a lot of you guys have been skiing for weeks now, and you guys go weekly. But for me thanks to school and location, i just don't have those options. So be thankful!

But anyways, it just seems like everyone loves snow. I walked around campus earlier just to feel it and look straight up and watch it fall. No matter what, everyone is happier when it's snowing. And even though i looked ridiculous and crazy, there had to be a dozen people out there just in front of my building alone. And tons of people were out walking or just standing there letting it fall on them. People said that once i started driving i'd stop liking snow as much, but i think the opposite has happened. Now that i have a car, everytime its snowing all i can think of going is loading up the car and heading north. I think snow is by far the most fascinating aspect of our weather.

And no, i'm not high. I just haven't seen snow in a long time so i'm celebrating it. Even without skiing, i still love just the snow itself. Now if you'll excuse me, i'm off to drink with some skier friends to toast the first fall.
 
freshman year at CU during the first big snowfall of more than an inch or so the entire campus came outside to watch it fall...then it turned into a 10,000 person snowball fight for over an hour.
we were over at the fitness center swimming laps when it started, and when we walked out there were already 6 inches on the ground...the 3-4 hundred yard walk back to our dorm was like that movie The Warriors cause packs of other kids would jump out around every corner and attack us with snow. farrand field looked like a battle from Braveheart or something, there had to be 200 kids out there just killing each other with snowballs. it was soooooooo much damn fun and so unexpected.
 
driving in snow makes you less happy? i dont get it? driving in snow is the best thing ever, ill go drive around for hours just because its snowing.
 
haha ya man! that was deep... serously i don't see why some people can't like it i know in my family as soon has it starts snowing my families mood is ten times better
 
ITs snowing here in eastern MASS!yeah thats how i always feel when i see snow but i actually drive up for preseason
 
Im kinda bummed so far. Its been cold here in Plattsburgh,NY but almost no snowfall. One day we got like 2 inches and I was so pumped to see the ground fairly covered but the next day hit like 55 and snow doesnt fair too well above 32 unfortunately
 
nah man, i mean everyone told me as soon as i could drive, i wouldn't like snow as much. I'm with you, i love driving in it and will go out driving just because it's snowing
 
in ontario we've had the most snow anyone can remember in the last ten years this early we at almost 3 feet and its been around since november 15

But yeah, it's awesome getting to see it finally, it makes everything better. It's too bad I won't get to ski until I go home for Christmas in another few weeks.
