What is going on here?

If you walk round ISPO, the euro sports trade fair (like SIA/OR) you’ll see a bunch of these kind of products, usually from companies with dry land training machines for skiing.

This one seems like they made one to go ski on. It’s always seemed to me to be an attempt to get around paying for an instructor/coach to teach you how to carve, by using a product invention. In short, training wheels for carving.
 
So...should I buy it and learn how to carve then?

How do you think the ski blades are without the brackets attached? I have some experience with ski blades in the '90s when I owned and rode exclusively the OG Kneissel Big Feet.
