What is an underflip Exactly??

not specific enough and underflip is 90 and lincon towards up hill the 90, so if you spin left you would do 90 left side then drop your left shoulder doing a lincon then finish the last 90 spinning left

i know this isnt exactly the answer to your question but the way you set it is like a backflip, while dropping your left shoulder.

if that helps you visualize it better. btw if you think its bs thats the way jp auclair told me to set it.

An underflip is usually 90-uphill lincoln-90 like said before, but 90-frontflip-90 is also considered underflip by many people.

seems like that could only be a misty or maybe an overflip. where was that considered an underflip?

ive never heard of an overflip. I have heard lincoln 180. if you "overflip" and do a late 360 it is often mistaken for a misty 540, but there are subtle differences.

your basically doing a backflip 180 early. Most people learn backflip 180s off jumps first and then naturally move into underflips because they start to rotate to the side early. A backflip 180 is really a backflip to late late 180 whereas an underflip you rotate to the side and straight back right away making it 90 lincoln 90. Its very common to fuck it up and land on ur face for many people causes its such a naturally flowing trick. I used to be at a block doing cork 5s cause i would always throw underflips instead. ITs a fun trick but u dont see too many people throwin em over really big hits.

Underflips

An underflip can easily be mistaken for a rodeo or a misty. It’s an odd rotation: a 90 degree turn off the lip, followed by a lincoln loop up the hill (head faces jump followed by feet) to another 90, landing backwards. See niklas karlstrom in teddybear crisis up the step-up, or in X off of a small snowbank. Vincent Dorion also does these well.

Overflips

Baisically the opposite of an underflip, commonly mistaken for a misty 5. 90, lincoln loop downhill (feet face jump followed by head) to another 90, landing backwards. see mike wilson in ready, fire, aim or in superpark 2. These do look almost exactly like misty’s. Searching on NS, I could only find one video of an overflip, and it wasn’t that great of an example. We need your video!

You see, these suck, we need better ones.

no, that defently a misty, cause thats how a lot of mistys are done, no under flips are done that way.

mistys and overflips look super similar.

Overflip= you turn 90 then do a downhill lincoln loop THEN turn 90 some more and youll land switch

Misty= you basically throw your shoulder into your opposite foot and itll throw you into a frontflip 5

Best example i can think of for an overflip is in jon reedy's segment in strike 3.

As far as underflips - candide is the master of them. He used to throw sick underflip 7s and switch underflip 7s in the xgames/comps a lot, if i remember right.

overflip is 180 to backflip which basically turns into 90 lincoln 90 down the hill and underflip is 180 frontflip

you're right, but i think the confusion is in how you're phrasing it, cause once you turn sideways and rotate towards the lip, you're lincon flipping up the hill and its no longer a backflip motion relative to your body. nadadamean?
