can anyone describe what a cab is? as in the trick. i cant tell much difference from straight spins.

guess that explains why i couldnt tell the difference between a straight spin from pics in magazines

I don't think 3 words for backwards is enough. We all know that the coolness of the sport increases with the size of the lexicon. I am proposing we come up with at least 8 more words for going backwards. Anyone got any ideas?

CAB:

A skateboarding trick invented by Steve Caballero. Its a fakie (switch nollie) frontside 360. I suppose a Cab on skis should be a switch unnatural (most skateboarders spin backside easier) 360. However, I hear it in regards to just switch. This goes the same with snowboarding, its used mostly just to describe a switch spin.

the majority of skiers, when referring to something as cab, mean fakie, backwards, or switch.

Brody

i wont drop out of high school for skiing, mom

well, if a cabs *closest* approximation in skiing is switch unnatural, than i move to say that cab should *only* be used to describe switch unnatural spins (not just skiing switch.) anyone with me?

i don't think cab should be used in skiing. skiiers don't have a frontside or backside. a switch 3 is a switch 3 and that's how it should be.

^ bingo.

'I heard that Richard Gere gerbils. That is, he inserts gerbils into a paper towel tube, which he then sticks up his butthole. I don't doubt this, because he asked me if i wanted to come over to his house and gerbil. I insisted that he come over to MY house, since the whole thing seemed weird. As a practical joke, i attached a bucket of water to the top of the door so that when he opened it, I beat him with a mannequin leg.'-Skydaddy

i remember at the x games last year some snowboarder was talking about his cab 9 and they said that cab is a switch spin where you land forward. who knows, though, they fuck up things sometimes and switch is the only word we need.

in the us freeskiing open last year, evan raps was commentating, and he called every single switch trick a 'cab' whatever. he never once said the word switch. it was pretty annoying. most people don't know what cab means. most people know what switch means.

Fvck the term 'Cab'. That is sooo dumb. This day in age everybody talks about 'skiing needs a future' or blah, blah, blah. It's bad enough we use snowboard terms for the Misty or Rodeo, but now a skateboarding term? That is soooo stupid, come up with some original terms for our sport. And don't tell me that those sports made those tricks, because skiers were landing backwards, doing Misties and Rodeos before skateboards, inlines and snowboards existed.

Also, terminology has gotten out of hand, take this for example.

Straight air=A switch Cab, unnatural penciled out zero-spin.....get fvck outta here with that bullshit

Actually, you're an idiot.

Skateboarding invented the terms misty and rodeo spins, not snowboarding. They started spinning rodeos in the early 1980s, definatly before they started doing them on skis or snowboards. They were doing inverted spins during that time on skis, but these were mainly back fulls and things along those lines, what we would call a DSpin today. Similar to a rodeo, but definatly not the same thing.

Basically.... Skiing steals from snowboarding, snowboarding steals from skateboarding, skateboarding steals from surfing, surfing steals from cowboys, cowboys steal from indians and/or ninja pirates.

How do you differentiate Bio's, D-Spins, Rodeos, Misties, Cork? I can never fuckin tell one from the other. All I see is crazy spins and inversions. The only thing I can ever tell is rotations. I think it's time for me to learn.

Look... A mountain RAM. Staring contest. Me and you. You don't even blink do you? You win. You always do. Goulet.

how do you set your rotation to do a Bio?
