What inspired you to be a newschooler?

ski movie 2 and happy days, and watchin boarders and some skiiers do trick in the park in like 2000

i think watching the x games.. or somthing like that, i forget but im glad i saw whatever it was i saw

mcconkey in one of the ski movies. that guy always cracked me up. but, what gave me the extra push was moving to a new city and making friends with the freeski boys.

just being at the hill everyday, i didnt even know it existed when i was a wee tot, i basically thougt my friends and I invented it. The at the age of 12 I finally saw "the game", and realsed how unreal skiing could be.

I had no movies or people to inspire me. I saw a few people doing it, and regardless of that I was always doing 360's off the smallest jumps around the mountain. Then I found this website that has stolen my soul.

it was tanner hall for me...and also seeing some of the kids at my hill wth twins when they first were starting to come out, i thought it was dope, so i asked for a pair for x-mas...and got mick nick lines...yehyeh

I just loved to ski. And I've never been in racing so when I started to snowboard, I didn't enjoy it so I went back to skiing.

seeing my brother go on this site.. sounds dumb, but its true.

he stopped going to it like after the first time, but i joined and then.. yeah.

my friends were snowboarders and would hit jumps so I claimed I could do thqt better than them so I did. Unknown got me into the whole freeskiing scene though

its just my natural progression. I've skied my whole life so obviously i'd get into newschooling because its the best type of skiing.

when i was like 10-11 i had been skiing for a long time and i decied to swich to snowboarding cause it was the "cool thing to do" so my dad took me and my brother to ski chalet, i switched my skis for a snowboard and my older brother bought SM3. when we got home he was wacthing SM3 and i walked in while halls seg was playing. i was amazed. that night at dinner a asked my dad to take me back to the shop so i could switch my snowboard for skis. and he was so happy that i was switching back to skiing(cause he skied) that he took me on the 2 1/2 hour drive again the next day to get skis.

unfortunately, skiboards did. I ski boarded for a year and realised everything would look cooler on longer skis, so i bought some 138 pow'airs and evolved from there. I didnt really know anyhting about the whole freeskiing movement until last fall when i found newschoolers.com when i was searching for new skis on google.

I like that story.

I got into when the first time I ever saw the Game it was so dope. It was about this time 4d years ago.

i liked jumping and showing off on skis when i was young and when i saw propaganda and knew people were doing this shit i was like jizz..and so it began.

Jon Olsson in Propaganda, I didn't ski at the time but I thought it was so sick so I decided to pick up a pair of skis...from then on, it has become my life.

freeze r.i.p. and i didnt want to be a snowboard poser... but now im a ski poser... w/e skiings better anyway

i had been both skiing and boarding a few times. i liked skiing better but i was into aggressive skating and wanted to be able to go in the park and pipe. sadly i thought skiboards were the happy medium between the two. this was back when mike nick was a pro skiboarder. soon enough i saw the light and grabbed some twins. life is now complete

i was a skier , boarder, skier, then the boys for lac beauport started freeskiiing and dudes it changed my whole outlook in skiing freeskiing was the way to go. how else is there to exprese yourself on a mountain !!!

I broke my snowboard and needed a new one. I went to the store to get one, saw Volkl Explosiv's and had to have them. Then I learned to ski and have done so since.

me just deciding i want to ski a lot the one year and then i was looking at skis and saw twin tips and then i was like, whoa how fucking sweet, and then i looked into it, reaserached, found freeskiing.com followed by newschoolers, and then jsut got into it hardcore.

I spent most of my childhood watching skate/bmx/rollerblade movies... and had seen some pictures of skiers hitting rails on the internet... so i figured there was probably some videos of them sliding rails. I went to suncoast to see if they had any and there was a choice between a racing instructional tape and one with a guy doing a loop made out of snow with a big red "propaganda" written above it. I thought it looked interesting so i bought it. The movie all together was amazing but it was vinnie dorians part with mop "ante up" that lit a fire under my ass... ive been freeskiing ever since
