Do you think skiing would be where it is today? Just think about how much traffic this site gets from people all over the ski world, this site has a lot of input in to the ski world. But what if there was never this site ever? Would Heed be famous just for his one segment, and would Matt Walker be a big name pro?

i bet there would be alot less of us around, difrent trends and stuff. thank the world for matt harvey.

not anymore haha. i gave him 10 tho since he introduced such a philisophical question

WITHOUT NS:

would no poles exist?

would tanner be so undeservingly hated on as he does?

would i know who olson, dumont, wallisch are?

would i know what steeze was?

would i ripe as hard?

would i have gotten twin tip skis?

would i know what a cork, bio or broken grind are?

would i know have to epoxy up skis?

would i know how to properly set my DIN?

would i have seen a switch double superman front flip?

would i know who Harvey, Ryno, Nomensteven, Smuch are?

and finally

would i have the passion for snow sports and freestyle skiing?

The answer to most if not all of these questions is a simple no. Yes it may seem that NS takes out a sometimes ridiculous amount of my time, but it has proven to have taught me much and i have embrace freestyle skiing and just enjoying pushing the sport to even further limits. So to conclude, freestyle skiing would be different, it has taught many, as it is a vast body of information ( and sadly hate sometimes) to those who are interested and seek to be a part of this ever growing sport. At this time i would like to raise my glass to all other NS'ers and say CHEERS for the great times, and heres to the growing sport of freestyle skiing.

Ski for the moment

Ski for the joy

Ski for the memories

THANKS NEWSCHOOLERS

Without NS I would have been in the same place I am with BMXing, not knowing where to start, what the sport I want to do is actually called and just basic info on it... Anyone wanna help? lol

I would not be obsessed with skiing. I would not have gone to High North. I would be a gaper kid still. I would probably be going to college somewhere here in California instead of Utah. I would probably have better grades. I wouldn't know random tidbit facts before other people I know do (ex. I knew what butt hash/jenkem was before everybody else).

things would be a lot different in the skiing industry as well as in my own life. I feel like it's taught me a lot personally, especially interacting with people from all over the globe and getting their view on life. sincerely I feel like I'd be a different person. how much different, it's hard to say.. but becoming more obsessed with skiing, more chill in life, more open to new ides, types of people, and music are all results of being here.. shit dude. thanks.

i'm surprised you didn't claim on the recognition you got in my previous post, haha but your not like that of course

if ns didnt happen i dont think the sport would have progressed as much as it has. people probably wouldnt be as informed as they are now about events or new or upcoming pros.

nomensteven without a doubt gets my backing as one of the most legit posters on this site.. so theres my claim for him cause he wont.

i'd probably be doing something productive right now

and to the thread creator, i'd give u karma but it's at 4999 right now and thats uber cool

I certainly wouldn't have had as much fun, known nearly as many people, or have any part in a lot of the cool things I've done. I wouldn't have even gone to school where I am, because a trip the WCS changed my college choice. I also wouldn't be involved with ON3P if NS weren't around.

I have lots to be thankful for.

if newschoolers.com never happened someone else would have eventually made a simmilar site but it would be way less cool.

If newschoolers.com never happened:

-Harvey probably wouldn't be editor of Freeskier

-Bishop would be working at some ski shop, telling anyone that'll listen, his wild thoughts on the power of the internet and how it's "fucking insane!"

-Schmuck would be a roadie for a Van Halen cover band and would have a travel schedule that only burnt out alcoholics would envy.

-Jason would be chasing tail, non stop, trying to get girls on his "program"

wait...that has nothing to do with newschoolers

-CKO would probably be fine. Seriously. I would have no doubt this guy would've been A-OK.

- and me? Well, I'd probably be dead, lying face down in a drained swimming pool somewhere. I need this place more than a crackhead needs another fix.

well i would have no friends to ski with. like allen said i wouldnt have met him or anyone else in my school. i would have better grades and get more sleep.

i dont think another site like newschoolers would come around though. there is a distinct power we have over the ski industry. something like if we dont like it we'll hate it to death and if its cool and trendy we'll make their sales go through the roof kinda thing.

we also have power over pros and such. like remember when olson did his switch five in the x-games for us? yeah we can do that type of thing. we have also added lots of diversity to the products that exist. like we have made the twin tips category explode. also all the small businesses that have been born on this site. like ec headwear where would they be without ns?

over all we're fricken awesome.

Seriously, I did not improve from NS at all. My progression had nothing to do with NS.

But, I did get a lot out of NS:

-Up to date reports on comps, teams and parks

-The video section

-Showing my abilities and getting feedback

honestly i could care less about karma, i just want to get my point across, but im glad you agree with me

i havnt even been on ns a full year and without it, i wouldnt know anything about skiing like i do now, i would have better grades, i wouldnt consistantly say things like "cool story hansel" and "no homo" thank your NS, your like a second family to me:)
