What Helmet!!

I had a bad crash that ended my season this last year. This particular crash raised a lot of what if questions because I had not been wearing my helmet at the time. I currently have a smith holt ski helmet and although it looks pretty cool, functionally it is a piece of shit because I never want to wear it. The reason I dislike it so much is because of the fit, it slides all over my head and the next biggest and smallest sizes are no better fit.

I've been looking at the K2 Rival and other helmets like it which have the dial fit system or something like it.

Does anyone have other suggestions on what a good helmet might be???
 
Smith maze, giro combyn, poc receptor are some of the best helmets imo. Avoid bern, and mazes are 50x better than holts

Word, I've had both. Maze is the way to go
 
Poc receptor bug. It's the helmet I've used since day one. It's great mechanically and can take a beating. + it looks cool lol
 
My Giro Discord fits great and looks decent. The Combyn and the Discord are both great options due to the soft shell tech which allows for multiple impacts. As the sizing is different with all helmets, make sure you try it on in a store. I recommend sizing up if you wear a beanie, balaclava, wizard hood underneath. Good luck!

the atomic troop is what im in atm. super comfy snug fit, the peak is removable so looks like a standard helmet. only downside is the matt finish is kinda prone to scratches
 
I'm looking at a new helmet for next season too to replace my pro-tec b2 superlight skate helmet as i love it but i dont really feel its functional as protection. has anybody had any experience with the new MIPS helmets?

Get one of the Giro soft shell models. Picked up my Discord for 75$.
 
Giro combyn or discord are great because you can slam it a lot and it still holds up, poc receptor bug, or any MIPS helmet. I just ordered an anon raider, I hope it's good
 
Another vote for the POC Receptor Bug, or any POC helmet. They make top notch gear and these helmets can take a beating. Mine is due to be replaced this season though. Going with another POC is a no brainer for me.
 
The Red trace is good if you like goggles under your helmet, but the clip thing kinda sucks if you like them over. Earpads are removable.

I had a red trace and I hated it. It was honestly worse than the smith I have
