What has happened

Reading reviews on ski resorts or even better — working at one seriously questions my faith in humanity. I saw the dumbest shit working park crew for 3 seasons

Few years ago while bumping chairs at targhee some kook was bitching to me that they didn't groom enough after a big dump. Fuck midwestern boomers.

Where do you guys store the jumps in the summer?

My mom use to work at city market in breck back in the day. Her favorite quote is always from some big ass texan dude who rolled in when it had been nuking pow for a week and says

'I just wish it'll stop snowin so we can go skiin!'

Apparently it was day 3 of a week long trip and they hadn't even hit the slopes yet. Poor guy lol

The thing is if we actually get 12” if real snow out here in the east we bow down to the snow gods. That review killed me

To be fair, you are likely to hear a similar statement from professionals during a competition or filming week. Dumping snow is wonderful but not the best to actually ride in all the time.

They really complain over here in the east if shit doesn’t get groomed

Snow mid week. Snow before holidays. Market the shut out of it. Blue bird 30 degree weekends and holidays. Best bottom line profit you could ask for.

The same % of people that come to a resort to ski park are the same % that come to ski pow. The other 80% want sun and soft groomed snow

I get your sentiment but idk bout that. You ever seen lines on a pow day?

I bet if you did an analysis on those people, something like 80% are season pass holders or locals.

when I was in the ski business the daily numbers would be drastically affected most days with weather. If a sunny nice Saturday on holiday averages 14,000 skier visits - that number would be 9,000 on a windy snowing similar day

Conditions power ranking list:

1. At least thigh deep Powder Day

2. Knee deep powder day

3. Bluebird Spring Slush that's not grabby

4. Bluebird hardpack day

5. 1/2 an inch-6 inches of fresh that just makes bumps and slows you down with poor vis

6.No vis

Rain and no vis

Lol this reminds me of the Snowbird ad campaign that used bad reviews like this.

Seriously if anything I complain when trails ARE groomed after fresh snow.

Not that it concerns me, but shouldn't you guys be replying to customer support emails instead of ski gaber threads?

Lmao just noticed this comment. You guys have the nuts to come on here and still comment and just try to go along with business? Are you in business? Do you think you will be for long? I’d start polishing up your resumes and reading info on bankruptcy laws

Honestly I prefer these people to those that suck at skiing pow, but they have been peer pressured into pretending to love it so they flounder around all day trying to figure it out.

If you suck at skiing pow and dont enjoy it, that's fine, I really dont judge you much for staying inside. More for me

If you groom everything 1 stat, " where the fuck is the powder?". Even if it's the most wet heinous snow ever conceived in the sky. If you don't groom it all. 1 star "why the fuck didn't you groom everything? It's hard to turn and it got bumpy!".

Basically you can't win and people reviews these days are trash.

Normal business encounter. "5star i highly recommend. I ordered something and they gave it to me. I wasn't murdered in the process."

Normal business encounter "1 star. I got a speeding ticket on the way to the store, fuck that store ".

People suck

Listen to the beginning. You may not agree but my statement is true. Dumping snow will turn some people away.

Avoids the questions above like avoids shipping orders ?

I hear this stuff all the time at Whitewater. "This place sucks; its too steep, too much snow and no cell towers in the area. I cant believe I spent 4000$ on this trip." Then they finish their rant with "I hope Balface is better"

My sister bitched about the bar because the server wont get a beer for her. Its the fucking Kootenays, not Whistler.

But, people like that is the reason the hill still exists.

Last season had a fully grown adult I was teaching ask me where the pillows are stored over winter...

In fairness he'd never skied off piste before and he was a generally nice chap, had to give him a bit of stick for that though

Solid PR move - just avoid all the real business related questions.

I’m sure McDonalds in Denver needs some more burger flippers when Saga 2.0 Denver goes belly up
