what happened to jumps it seems like rails are what skiing is all about when i frist started skiing it was all about the jumps she who could hit the biggest and do the biggest trick now its all about rails which are cool but when everyone frist started hitting rails they were round which is a lot harder and take alot more skills than a flat rail almost every rail i see now is at least 10 inches wide and easy as hell to do.... at my park we have one jump that is 10 feet it sucks 5 years ago we had 5 jumps each were about 25-50 feet......WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING TO SKIING AND JUMPS??????

 
I have not tried rails yet, but I think jumps are what get people excited about skiing. You can't forget the ambiance of the mountains as well.

 
I like them both equally cuz im equally good at them both...stop bitching to us and bitch to ur terrain park manager...thats what a bunch of kids skiers and snowboarders did and now we might actually have a sick park.

 
Your mountain is wacked man. Jumps and actual skiing will always hold this sport together. Oh and whoever said rails aren't dangerous is a fucknut.

they are two differant parts of skiing that complement each other, i wouldnt wach a movie that was just jumps or only rails, there has to be a fine balance

Rails are easier to build in parks than jumps are, they require less snow, so more of them pop up in parks. More kids wind up doing them...

dude if your worried that skiing is gonna turn into just rails...dont. it would be the most boring sport, jumps will always be popular no matter what

 
rails and jumps are the fabric of freeskiing, rails are not a phase and jumps arent going out, as long as freeriding is here, both will be here.

I believe that your not seeing alot of jumps because snow is a bit more sparse these past few years, and it costs a lot to blow snow for a huge kicker.
